Pine Crest 1650 Freestyle Meet Recap – Mile by Moonlight & Winterish Invite

The Pine Crest swimmers delivered an outstanding showing in the 1650 Freestyle, displaying grit, focus, and impressive endurance throughout one of the most demanding events in competitive swimming. Racing under the lights added to the challenge, and our athletes rose to the occasion with strong performances across the board.

Leading the way for Pine Crest was Freddy Rosenthal (18), who captured 1st place overall with an outstanding swim of 17:03.52, setting the tone for a dominant Panther performance. Close behind, Brady Baur (17) secured 2nd place in 17:08.47, while Galen Tortorella (17) followed with a strong 5th-place finish in 17:41.20.

On the girls’ side, Mckenzie Baur (15) led the Pine Crest charge with a gutsy performance, finishing 7th overall in 18:30.44, followed closely by Ashley Swirbel (13) in 12th place with 18:53.53. Jayden Paterson (13) continued the momentum with a solid swim, touching in 19:05.58 for 15th, while Samuel Miyamoto (13) added another strong effort at 19:14.43.

Depth and determination defined Pine Crest’s performance, as swimmers across all age groups embraced the challenge of the mile. Notable efforts included Juliette Driscoll (15), Sarah Shqalsi (13), Matias Prieto (13), Anna Hayes (11), Lacey Wolf (14), Sofia Surak (16), Demi Castillo (12), Izzie Figueiredo (15), Olivia Torrelio (12), Camila Arrue (15), Julian Rubinstein (14), Evan Szczodruch (10), and Lucas Hoyos (11) — each showing perseverance, mental toughness, and outstanding effort from start to finish.

The 1650 Freestyle is a true test of endurance and discipline, and Pine Crest swimmers embraced the challenge with courage, resilience, and team pride. This race showcased the team’s growing aerobic strength and competitive mindset, setting a strong foundation for the remainder of the season.
