The Warriors Practice at Kawamoto Swim Stadium in Hilo, HI

The Warriors of Hilo practice at the historic Kawamoto Swim Stadium in Hilo, HI.  WAC provides aquatic programs and services to those throughout South Hilo and the Puna District of the Big Island.  Our keiki (children) start their journey with WAC as young as 5 and train with us through their high school swim careers, with the most dedicated athletes heading off to university swim programs!

Registration for 2025/26 is Open to New Swimmers upon Coach Approval

Registration for the 2024/25 season is open to new swimmers upon coach approval.  To streamline the process, registration is completely electronic.  All athletes interested in joining the Warrior Aquatic Club must tryout.

Tryout for the Warriors!

Our club welcomes swimmers who are at least 5 years old, are able to comfortably freestyle and backstroke swim a minimum of 25-yards, and have a basic understanding of breathing technique (although it doesn't need to be perfect).  Please note that this is club swimming; WAC does not offer swim lessons.  Your athlete should be ready to maintain a positive attitude and growth mindset.  No competitive experience is required.  Coaches will help athletes learn and perfect all four competitive swimming strokes.

Our tryouts are held throughout the year.  Whether your athlete is a veteran looking to transfer or just starting their competitive swimming journey, fill out the form below and we'll contact you about our process once we begin scheduling new tryouts.
