We are working hard to get ready for our first Long Course Meet of the year, which is less than 3 weeks away! We have also added a couple of events to the calendar, so make sure you are updating your own as well. Here are the events coming up:
Swim-a-thon: Friday, May 7, 2010
Our “Hawaiian Daze” Swim-a-thon is fast approaching! Make sure you are out and about getting donations. Remember, this is our only fundraiser of the year, so please work hard so we don’t have to do any more. Again, this goes to pay our pool rent and our coaching staff, arguably the best staff in Inland Empire Swimming. For more information, click here; still have questions? Neptune Invitational—May 15-16: Lewiston, Idaho
Remember, entries for Neptune Invitational are due by Monday, May 3. Here is the updated plan:
NO PRACTICE FRIDAY NIGHT, either in Spokane or down in Lewiston.
The local college is having graduation on Friday night, so hotels are at a premium. I was unable to secure a hotel block, so, unfortunately, you’ll have to be on your own.
We will do a team warm-down/practice after the meet on Saturday evening. We will then do a team dinner at Fazzari’s Pizza in Clarkston, WA.
Spokane Waves Aquatic Team “BIG SPLASH” Annual Awards Banquet—Tuesday, May 25
Save the date for our annual awards banquet. Details are being finalized—we’ll hopefully let you know the exact plan next week.
Long Course Developmental Meet—Friday, May 21: Witter Pool
Spokane Area Swimming has graciously invited us to attend a Long Course Developmental Meet down at Witter Pool on Friday, May 21. Signups will be available later this week, once we get the entry files from SAS. This will be a rain or shine, warm or cold event, so be prepared for spring weather in Spokane!
That’s about it—short and sweet. Please keep up your hard work, both in the pool and out for the Swim-a-thon. Thanks again for all you do!!!
