Coaches Note 11-16-10
Happy Tuesday everyone! It’s a BIG week, with Turkey Trot this weekend. Under the Turkey Trot event page, scroll down and you’ll find the Timeline and Psyche Sheet.
Due to time constraints, the host team did remove several swimmers from distance events on Friday and Saturday. Also, several swimmers were accidently over-entered in more than 3 events per day, which was the maximum for this meet.
You should have received an email if you had a swimmer affected; the complete list of scratched swimmers can be found below the Timeline and Psyche Sheet under the Turkey Trot event page.
Coach Keddy will hold an informal discussion about the meet on Wednesday during the Age Group dryland time (6:30ish to 7:00); parents are more than welcome to join us in the lobby at Whitworth University.
Here’s what else is on the horizon:
Pumpkin Power Masters Meet
Our Masters swimmers competed in Sandpoint this past weekend, along with 11 other area teams. Our group of 5 swimmers swam well, finishing 4th and having a great time.
Red/Green Meet—Saturday, December 4: Whitworth University
Our annual Red/Green Charity Meet is coming up! The entry fee is $5 and a donation of food to the Second Harvest Food Bank or a donation of clothing or toys to Caritas Outreach Ministries. Entries are due Tuesday, November 30. Again, these developmental meets are excellent opportunities for newer and younger families, but we encourage all swimmers to attend.
Jingle Bell Splash Invitational—December 10-12: Kroc Center, Coeur d’Alene, ID
Our friends at CAST will host the Jingle Bell Splash at the beautiful Kroc Center; entries are due Tuesday, November 30.
Rachel Millet Press Release
As we announced a couple of weeks ago, our very own Rachel Millet will be headed to the University of Idaho on a full-athletic scholarship. Here is the official university press release. Go Vandals!
That’s it! We’re are already pumped for the upcoming weekend, and we hope you are too! Have a great week, and we’ll see you in the pool!
