Tri-Fusion: 4th Anual Sink-or-Swim

Waves Masters Meet

Saturday Oct. 24th was the 4th annual Tri-Fusion sponsored Sink or Swim Masters swimmeet. This was the first masters meet of the season. The meet was held at the Whitworth pool and 53 swimmers participated presenting at least 9 teams with some from as far away as Wenatchee and Montana. Overall, participants varied in age from 18 to 83. The Waves team had swimmers ranging in age from 21 to 58. This year we had one of the largest teams attending our own event with new swimmers Rick Mocabee, Emily Johnson, Mark Hodgson, Erika Balz and Stephanie Semenko and returning swimmers Sharon Underwood, Dan Sheahan, Heidi Friedman, Jim Breidenbach and Harm-Jan Steenhuis. Enough swimmers for several relay teams! We had a great meet thanks to the help of volunteers who helped with officialing, timing, entering data and printing results. Although the Wenatchee team beat us overall, several of our swimmers had PRs and of course many we all will now have times to improve on. One of our relay teams was close to setting an Inland Northwest record! We are looking forward to our next meet (probably January) and hope to do even better at that time.
