IES CHAMPIONS!!!--Recap

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!

For the first time in our 28 year history, the Waves finished first at the Inland Empire Long Course Championship Meet held July 27-29 at Witter Pool.

The Waves overwhelmed the competition with 115 athletes, scoring an incredible 33.63 points per swimmer, and won the championship with 3867 points—an impressive 1500 point margin of victory.  71 athletes scored individual points for our team, and another 17 scored points in relays.

Our 15 & over swimmers, almost all of whom were preparing for the Far Western Zone Meet in California, led the way in every respect with tough swimming and great leadership in cheers.  Of our 29 15 & over athletes, 24 of them scored points for our team.

Our 14 & under swimmers were absolutely phenomenal, with 84 of our 86 swimmers swimming at least one lifetime best and an overall best time rate of 84.27%!!!

Most importantly of all, we cheered as a team; we swam as a team; we won as a team!

CONGRATULATIONS AND THANK YOU TO ALL OF OUR SWIMMERS, PARENTS, AND COACHES WHO MADE THIS AMAZING WEEKEND POSSIBLE!
