Jingle Bell Expectations
To All Waves Families,
The Waves will be hosting the Jingle Bell Splash Meet this weekend at Whitworth. This is our first year doing this swim meet, and it has proven to be much more popular than we anticipated. There are a few changes and comments we wanted to share with you:
1. PARENTS: Your help, cooperation, and patience this weekend will be ESSENTIAL. To our knowledge, this is the largest event the Waves have ever held at the Whitworth Aquatic Center. We have taken some necessary steps to maximize our space, but expect it to be very crowded and chaotic, and trust the coaches and parent volunteer leaders to provide you with any help or guidance you may need.
2. Please minimize your footprint in the aquatic center. Try to not layout large sections with blankets, etc. and please be as accommodating as possible.
3. WARM UPS--here's the schedule:
| All 10&U Swimmers |
10:00-10:20ish |
| All 11&O Swimmers |
10:20ish-10:50ish |
4. All swimmers will swim a maximum of 3 events per day. Any swimmer who had originally entered in more than 3 per day had their entries adjusted. If there were comments, the coach adjusted accordingly; in the absence of comments, the coach adjusted in the best interest of the swimmer. We apologize for any confusion this may have created.
5. All relays have been removed from the meet. We have a very strict 8 hour time limit, and removing relays saves us about an hour per day. We apologize to all swimmers who were looking forward to swimming in a relay.
Thank you for your cooperation and participation. Thank you in advance for your patience. We know that we can make this a very fun and well run event, but we will need all of you to help make it happen.
