Jingle Bell Rocked!
The Waves hosted the Jingle Bell Splash Meet this past weekend at the Whitworth Aquatic Center. It was a huge success--130 Waves swimmers joined 270 swimmers from Inland Empire and Montana for the biggest ever Waves hosted meet. Everyone rose to challenge, racing with intensity, cheering with enthusiasm, and having a little fun too.
Delaney Phillips achieved an Age Group Sectional Qualifying Time in the 11-12 Girls 200 Breaststroke. Her time of 2:46.09 was a drop of over 4 seconds and nearly beat a 7 year old team record.
Additionally, Trevor Babcock, Brittany Caroon, Christopher Hartman, Joshua Kimball, Drew Kistler, Andrew Lambert, Sophia Madill, Matthew Norman, Sam Sentenn, Sam Thackston, and Brynn Worden all swam new Inland Empire Championship Qualifying Times.
Madi Lydig was highpoint champion for the 15 and over Girls, and was joined by a large number of top-10 High Point finishers:
8&U Girls: Megan Buries (6th), Jordan Gray (7th), Danikah Johnson (8th), & Asia Gere (10th)
8&U Boys: Jake Gendreau (5th) & Joshua Kimball (8th)
9-10 Girls: Jaclyn Gray (6th), Emma Thompson (7th) & Avery Tripp (10th)
9-10 Boys: Drew Kistler (4th), Andrew Lambert (5th) & Matthew Norman (6th)
11-12 Girls: Hannah Faulwell (8th) & Delaney Phillips (10th)
11-12 Boys: Jared Geschke & Tommy Madill (tied for 10th)
13-14 Girls: Makenzie Norman (3rd)
13-14 Boys: Robby Jones (2nd)
15&O Girls: Madi Lydig (1st), Alli Bumann (3rd), Jordan Erno (6th) & Meghan Merrick (9th)
