Senior Sectionals Recap

Senior Sectionals was an intense, fast, and very productive meet.  We had 10 kids head over to Federal Way Washington to do battle with the 940 fastest swimmers west of the Mississippi.  Just to clue you in on how fast this meet was, (and how well some kids did), our own Emma Schanz raced right next to World Record holder and Gold medalist, Missy Franklin.  Here are a few of the highlights of the weekend.

Nate Endebrock: He broke two team records, in the 200 free and 500 free.  Both the 15-18 & Open standards.

Conner Hickey:  Broke team records in the 100 and 200 Flys, making his first Jr. Nationals qualifying time in the 100 Fly.

Dyland Schanz:  Broke the team records in the 400IM, 100 Breast, 200 Breast.  He added to his Jr. National qualifying times with the 4IM, bringing his total to 4.

Jacob White: Broke the guys 50 Back record, and helped the guys almost break both the 200MR, and 200FR.

Madi Lydig: Broke a 2 year slump in the 200 back, dropping time placing in finals, and moving up in her heet at night!

Kaylee Beck:  She went 4/4 best times and made the walk on times for Boise State.  She will now be a division 1 athlete next year!  Her 200 fly was .5 seconds from the team record.

Faith Barr:  After just making the 1650 time, she dropped 5 seconds and also requalified the 100 Breast for Jr. Nationals!

Christine Renzini:  Christine dominated the last day, dropping 15 seconds to make her first Jr. National time standard in the 1650 placith 14th overall!

Emma Schanz:  She finaled in 3 events, making “A” final in both 100 and 200 breast, breaking an IES record and qualifying for her second event for the US Open this summer.

Coach Kevin managed to get his with pneumonia and qualified for a trip to the doctors with a 104 tempurature.  The only disappointment of the weekend.

Overall it was a blast, with great swims and awesome attitudes.  We are looking forward to the rest of the sectional crew keeping it going at Age-Group sectionals this weekend!
