Welcome New Swimmers and Parents
We have some new swimmers joining our team as well as prospective athletes trying out our program this week. Please welcome our new teammates to the pool deck and direct them to the coaches if they have any questions.
Whitworth Senior Swimmers at Whitworth this week
The North YMCA is closed for maintenance this week. The Whitworth Senior groups will be swimming at Whitworth Tuesday through Friday this week 5:30-8:15pm (no Saturday) and will be returning to their regular Fall schedule at the Y next week.
Upcoming Events
MRA Sprint Shootout (September 21, Moses Lake)
This is a one Day Meet, Excellent Meet for New Families and Swimmers to learn how to manage a swim meet and the perfect ice breaker for returning swimmers to get back into the swing of competition for the 2024-2025 short course season. Recommended for all Ripples, Wave Riders, Bronze and Silver swimmers.
Coaches Round Table Q & A (September 27, Whitworth 5:30-7pm)(Building # TBA)
A new event to help facilitate the parent educational process. Coaches will be available to answer any questions parents may have about the program or swimming in general. You will get to hear from all coaches regarding multiple topics and how to best assist the coaches in sustaining your swimmer’s progression during the course of their career with SWAT.
Crimson and Black Intrasquad Meet (September 28 @ Whitworth 7-9am)
Also, a new event this year. A fun event meant to facilitate team comradery and to help educate the parents on the volunteer positions and inner workings of a swim meet. Recommended for all.
Coaches will organize the swimmers into two different teams (Crimson & Black) based on the number of Registrations.
The two teams will compete against each other for fun and bragging rights!
The goal of this event is to:
- provide our new swimmers and families a chance to learn how to navigate a swim meet in a comfortable environment
- allow our returning swimmers a chance to have fun with a different racing format
- and for our parents to learn the different volunteer positions and what goes on behind the scenes at a meet and how to manage a home meet
Register your swimmer(s) the same as you would any other competition or team event by clicking Yes on the Commitment Tab
