SWAT Wins Seventh Consecutive SC IES Championships!

Congratulations SWAT on the Seventh Consecutive IES 1st Place Team Finish.
With the IES Championships rule and time standard changes, we knew going into the meet that this year would be one of our most challenging. Many of our swimmers are at the bottom of their respective age groups, this was one of our youngest Championship Teams to date. Coaches and swimmers have spent the past seven months with development in mind to fill some holes in our age groups in order to put together a cohesive team to fill relays and place swimmers in the top 8.
The athletes delivered, with a combined score of 722.50 points (over 100 points ahead of the second place team). SWAT had multiple Event Winners, Top 8 finalists, swimmers achieving 100% Best Times and New All Time Top 10 Athletes.
Our mission from the beginning of the season was to remain at the top of the IES while rebuilding our Regional, Sectional and Futures Teams. While we hit many of the goals we set out to accomplish, with four Championship Meets left this month, we’re not done yet.
Congratulations to:
Josh Barton for achieving his first Age Group Regional Qualifying Times in the 200 Free, 500 Free and 1650 Free!
and to
Jacob Furqueron for winning the 13-14 Boys 1st Place High Point and for setting a New Team Record in the 13-14 Boys 100 Backstroke (53.05)!
