2025 M3 Aquatics Juneteenth Hour of Power
Hello M3A families,
We are proud to announce our annual Juneteenth Hour of Power! Fundraising begins Monday, June 9, and will conclude Monday, July 7. We continue to use this event as an opportunity to further our drownproofing efforts by allocating money raised to support our no-cost open-water lessons programming, to continue to make swim school scholarships available, and to develop an Athlete Endowment Fund for our competitive team in an effort to reduce the cost of travel and meet fees to National Level swim meets. Our goal is $15,000 with 1/3 of our total raised to be split among the three objectives.
For the Hour of Power, the coaching staff will facilitate three opportunities at the Illinois Tech Ekco Pool on Thursday, June 19 for athletes to swim as many lengths as they can in one hour. Athletes will be slotted to hourly intervals based on their practice group. At the conclusion of the Hour of Power, the M3A staff will host a team barbeque outside the pool, weather permitting.
- Senior/National/Master Groups: 6:45-8:00 a.m.
- Gold & Silver Groups: 8:15-9:30 a.m.
- Bronze & any athlete who missed their respective time slot: 9:45-11:00 a.m.
For this fundraiser athletes and their families will have three ways of taking part:
1. Securing a donation pledge per length completed
2. Securing a donation pledge of a lump sum, regardless of the number of lengths completed
3. Securing a donation pledge of a lump sum, regardless of the athlete participation in the Swim-A-Thon event
For the first, athletes will document who they are collecting the donation from in this FORM and note the amount pledged per lap along with the contact information of the individual. The athlete will then be responsible for relaying the amount to the club by cash, check, or Venmo which will be the rate agreed upon per length multiplied by the documented number of lengths completed in one hour.
For the second and third option, athletes will complete the same form but note the flat amount that they have raised along with the contact information from that individual.
Donations to M3 Aquatics are tax-deductible donations. If you would like a receipt of your donations for tax filings, please email [email protected].
M3 Aquatics accepts donations by cash, checks, Venmo @M3Aquatics (M3A NFP), or via our website using the home page banner. If you want to donate via check, please make your check out to M3 Aquatics. If you donate via Venmo, please note "M3 Hour of Power," the donor name, and which athlete it is on behalf of.
The generosity of our community and club members is what makes us who we are. Thank you in advance for your support financially and otherwise and for your advocacy on behalf of those who can benefit the most from aquatic safety training.
See you at the pool,
The Coaching Staff
