Renewing Our Commitment to our Membership
M3A Parents & Athletes -
it is all too unfortunate that hate and bigotry come in so many forms. Recently, we have seen hate manifest as targeted acts against our Asian and Pacific Islander neighbours. The toxic and inaccurate rhetoric of the COVID-19 pandemic has empowered those who wish to harm others in our communities. We do not stand for this.
The Asian and Pacific Islander community is and always will be an integral part of our M3 community. We want to let you know that we will be doing our part to ensure that practice remains a safe and supportive environment, that we will continue to confront and combat damaging rhetoric and untruths, and that we are available as a support system to all those who need it.
In a time when many are facing hardships, it is unfortunate that we all are brought together to confront another evil. This evil however is not new. From the exclusion acts of the 19th century to the internment camps of the 20th century, Asian and Pacific Islander communities have been and continue to be targeted around us.
Our obligation as coaching staff remains to advance a team culture that recognizes the inherent dignity of all people. We will do this by addressing these most recent acts of violence in Georgia with our athletes and re-enforcing the need to confront misinformation whenever we come across it.
In Solidarity, We Stand. ~The Coaching Staff
