Ben Pearthree Receives USA Swimming’s Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Award

DENVER, April. 23, 2022 — At the 2022 USA Swimming Workshop, M3 Aquatics Coach Ben Pearthree was presented with USA Swimming’s Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Award. USA Swimming states that the award is presented to “a person, group, or organization that has positively heightened the awareness of inclusion efforts through various modes and media resulting in the increase and successful participation of currently underrepresented groups in the sport of swimming.”

Ben received the award for the work he has done on behalf of M3 Aquatics for drowning prevention, providing access to affordable aquatic programming and additional efforts for community engagement. The award was presented by Wade Atkins, the chair of the USA Swimming Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Committee along with Missy Franklin and Rowdy Gaines.

“It’s truly an honor and a privilege to do this work. I am so grateful to the people in my life who have been there to support and mentor me,” said Ben after receiving this honor. “Swimming is my passion and it’s a gift to be able to share this with the people who can benefit the most from this sport.” Ben also serves as a co-chair for the Illinois Swimming Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee with Alex Cramer.
