Dr Sullivan, of Sullivan Chiropractic, has been working with USA Swimming since 2017 as a member of the sports medical staff with USA Swimming’s National Team and Junior National Team. Since becoming a member of the medical staff, Dr. Sullivan has worked at many TYR Pro Series events, NCAA Championships, Short Course World Championships in Abu Dhabi and has more up-coming events scheduled with USA Swimming. As a member of USA Swimming and the USOC, Dr. Sullivan attends yearly conferences for medical professionals that work with swimmers. During these meetings, professionals from several medical fields share the latest information on how to care for our athletes. He will be attending this year’s meeting at the beginning of May. Dr. Sullivan is also required to maintain Safe Sport certifications as well as a separate background check conducted by the FBI. Finally, Dr. Sullivan has been working with the sports medical staff at the University of Kentucky for the past 10 years. The mission at Willow Creek Counseling Center is to provide a safe, nurturing, and compassionate environment where their clinicians walk alongside clients of all ages and backgrounds empowering them to make decisions about their lives. Owned and operated by Kentucky Aquatics’ own Becky Host, we’re extremely grateful to provide this resource to help ensure the continued mental health of our KYA families. Jessica Houlihan is a Kentucky Aquatics swim-mom and faculty member of the Department of Dietetics and Human Nutrition at The University of Kentucky. Jessica has been in the UK Department of Family and Community Medicine as a Research Associate and Good Samaritan Emergency Department as a Physician Assistant since 2000. She is a member of the Kentucky Academy of Physician Assistants (KAPA), where she serves as a member of the Board of Directors, and the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). Jessica is an incredible resource for any KYA swimmer or parent looking for advice on how to get the most out of their performance through proper hydration and nutrition. She is happy to assist in any way she can, including getting your family in touch with any additional resources your swimmer’s specific needs may require.
