Rob Owen

Team Owner & Head Coach

Born and raised in Bridgewater, Massachusetts, Coach Rob has been in competitive swimming as both a swimmer and coach for over 2 decades. He began swimming at a young age as a club swimmer in New England and went on to become one of the best swimmers to ever come out of Massachusetts. He was recruited to swim in college on a scholarship at Virginia Tech and graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree in 2018.

While at Virginia Tech, Rob amassed many accomplishments at the ACC, NCAA and National level. Rob is a 3-time ACC Champion in the 400 IM (2015-2017) and still holds the Virginia Tech Program Record and ACC Meet Record with a time of 3:38.43. He competed all four years at Division 1 NCAAs and finished his collegiate career as an All-American and 5-time Honorable Mention All-American.

In USA Swimming competition, Rob qualified and competed at the 2012 and 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials. In 2016, he placed 6th overall in the 200 Backstroke at Olympic Trials, and with a time of 1:56.79, earned a spot on the US National Team for the following season. Rob concluded his swimming career in the summer of 2017 as he competed for Team USA at the World University Games in Taipei, Tawain, and made the top final in the 200 Backstroke.

After a couple years of engineering work, Rob came back to his passion of competitive swimming as a coach. Over the past 5 years coaching, he has coached swimmers to qualify for championship level meets including NE Age Groups, NE Seniors, Sectionals and Futures. Under Rob’s coaching, his swimmers have gone on to become Top-10 swimmers in New England, win events at Age Group Championships, break several New England Swimming Records and rank nationally in their respective events.

The foundation of Rob’s coaching philosophy is a strong work ethic through effort and discipline, as well as integrity and respect for the sport, coaches, teammates and competitors. He desires to coach all swimmers to their fullest potential in competitive swimming, and along the way, have a positive impact in the development of great people with strong character.

Rob resides in Webster, MA with his wife (and team co-owner), Adriana, as well as their two French Bulldogs, Bruin and Fenway.

 


Adriana Owen

Team Co-Owner & Seasonal Coach

With over 8 years of swim coaching experience, Adriana was named the sixth Head Coach in school history for both the Wheaton College Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving programs in June of 2024. In her first year, the ‘Wheaton Women’ placed 3rd at the NEWMAC Conference Championships, capturing several Top-3 individual event and relay finishes. The ‘Wheaton Men’ scored the second highest points in team history at the NEWMAC Conference Championships (since 2017) while also capturing multiple Top-3 individual event and relay finishes. The Lyon Pride achieved over 50 Top-Ten Performer Times in school history and 6 WCSD Program Records. Adriana’s coaching experience expands beyond college as she has assisted in New England as a club coach of all ages.

Prior to her coaching career, Adriana Owen (formerly Grabski) was making a name for herself at the Division 1 collegiate level as a swimmer on scholarship at Virginia Tech. While with the Hokies, Adriana was a main cog in Virginia Tech's relay teams, advancing to four straight NCAA Championships. The sprinter earned All-America Honorable Mention accolades for both the 200 Medley Relay and 400 Medley Relay to cap her senior campaign with the Hokies. The freestyler anchored Virginia Tech's 200 Medley Relay to take the silver medal at the ACC Championships that year as well. Adriana is still a part of two school records at Virginia Tech with her name etched at the top of the record board for both the 200 and 400 Medley Relays, while also maintaining a spot among the program's fastest swimmers in history with the seventh-fastest mark in both the 100 Freestyle and 200 Freestyle. In addition to her success at both the Division 1 NCAA and ACC conference levels, Adriana qualified for the United States Olympic Trials in the 50-meter Freestyle in 2016.

Adriana graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Studies in 2018. She currently resides in Webster, MA, with her husband (and team co-owner/head coach), Rob, as well as their two French Bulldogs, Bruin and Fenway.

 


Christian Alonte

Lead Assistant Coach

A four-year swimmer at NYU, Christian graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry. A University Athletic Association (UAA) Conference finalist and student-athlete honor roll recipient, he brings both competitive experience and academic excellence to his coaching.

Christian has coached athletes ranging from age 10 & under to senior-level swimmers, guiding many to achieve Top-10 New England rankings, New England Seniors cuts, and Sectionals qualifications.

His coaching philosophy emphasizes race pace training, grounded in the belief that fast meet times are built in practice. While aerobic and threshold sets are essential for developing work capacity, Christian prioritizes technical excellence and consistent effort, helping athletes maintain strong skills under pressure.

Christian was born in Manila, Phillippines, raised in California and moved to Holden, MA at the age of 14, where he resides today.

 


Henry Ramirez

Lead Development Coach

Since 2011, Henry has been an active and passionate member of the New England swimming community, coaching swimmers of all levels and backgrounds. With over a decade of experience, Henry has built a reputation for developing athletes through a strong foundation of discipline, effort, and motivation.

Guided by the core belief that "hard work always works", Henry creates an environment where swimmers are pushed to grow not only in the water but also in character. His approach blends technical skill development with mental toughness, helping athletes of all abilities achieve their goals.

Henry earned his Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education from UPEL in Venezuela and completed his Master’s Degree at Fitchburg State University. He’s a big soccer fan (his favorite team is Real Madrid) and in his free time, he enjoys playing tennis with his son and friends.

 


Leah Kolb

Assistant Coach

Leah has been in competitive swimming for 12 years, starting her swimming career as a club swimmer in Michigan and continuing onto the collegiate level at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), where she was one of the team‘s top contributors. She was a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) championship finalist and is a part of four school records at WPI. She was recruited to swim for WPI and graduated with an Architectural Engineering Degree in May of 2025.  

 

Leah has experience coaching junior level swimmers and values the swimmers having fun while working hard. She desires to help swimmers establish the framework for healthy swimming habits in and out of the water. 

 

Born and raised in south-east Michigan, Leah moved to Worcester, MA, in 2021, where she resides today.
