Registration for Fall/Winter 2024-2025 is now OPEN!

Chase Gibson

Dear Current & Prospective RAC Families,

We are pleased to announce that Registration for the Fall/Winter session is now OPEN! You can access the registration portal HERE .

You will find more detailed information about the process for new swimmer evaluations and group assignments within the registration portal itself.  Below are some key points to consider:

Returning VARSITY & DEVELOPMENT Swimmers

All returning swimmers have been assigned a group. You can view your swimmer’s group assignment HERE .   We have made some adjustments to our group structure, outlined here:

  1. Addition of Mini Group- Varsity Group for swimmers ages 6-8. This is designed to be an introduction to competitive swimming with the season running  from September-February. More details about Mini Group can be found on our group description page. Swimmers will be assigned to this group by the coaching staff.

  1. Restructuring of Development Groups- This season our Development Groups will consist of only Barracudas and Piranhas and we  will be instituting an age cap of 10 years old for our Developmental Groups. All swimmers who were in Sharks last season are asked to sign up for swimmer evaluations to be considered for a Varsity group. More details about our Varsity groups can be found on our group description page.

If your swimmer was assigned to Piranhas, Barracudas, Mini, White, or Red and would like to challenge for a higher group placement, they are welcome to attend evaluation night on Wednesday 8/28.  Swimmers assigned to Bronze that are interested in Blue group should reach out to Coach Katie directly.

We do ask that you register for your assigned group to hold your place, and we will make the necessary adjustments after evaluations, if needed.

**In order to guarantee your child’s spot, please register no later than Monday 8/12. At this point we may close off registration if groups are reaching capacity.

High School Swimmers

If your swimmer is in Bronze/Blue and they are also a high school swimmer, we have recommended which registration option aligns with their high school swimming plans and goals. Please see these guidelines to help you determine the correct placement for your HS swimmer. The “High School” groups should attend their respective Blue/Bronze practice. There is no separate schedule for high school swimmers. Questions about which registration option makes sense for your swimmer should be directed to Coach Katie or Coach Chase.

New Swimmers

All new swimmers must sign up under the “Swimmer Tryout” option and attend evaluation night. If you have documented times to submit to consider early group placement, you can send them to Coach Katie.

Evaluation Night: Wednesday, August 28th at Haverford

  • Swimmers 8 & younger as of 10/31/24: 6:00
  • Swimmers 9 & older as of 10/31/24: 7:00

An exact practice schedule will be available later in August, but you can view a draft September schedule HERE . I am confident RAC will continue to provide an optimal training environment for our swimmers at all levels.

Below are the the start dates for each group:

  • Blue & Bronze- Week of 8/26
  • Red, White & Mini- Week of 9/2
  • Development- Week of 9/9

New for Blue Group- Strength Training

This fall we are pleased to announce we will be offering a supplemental strength training program for our Blue Group swimmers. Exact dates and times are TBD, but we plan to schedule the sessions to align with our existing practice schedule to make it as convenient as possible for our swimmers and families. Please note: this would be an additional fee and swimmers would opt-in to strength training, it is not included in the Fall/Winter Blue rate. I will reach out to our registered Blue/Blue-HS swimmers later in August with more details.

Lessons/Masters

Masters will start the week of 9/9 and Lessons will begin in October. Please check back on our website later in August for more details.

Meets

We will be hosting a USA meet at Radnor High School September 28-29. More details can be found here . We plan to attend 1-2 USA meets per month from October-February.  SAL meets will also start in November. As in past years, Blue and Bronze groups will each have their own travel meet. When meet information becomes available it will be posted on our events page.

Equipment

All groups will have an equipment requirement , which is available for purchase at Toad Hollow Athletics.

At RAC our main objective is to build a positive attitude towards the sport of swimming. We pride ourselves on the team spirit, camaraderie, and sportsmanship that our swimmers demonstrate every day at both practices and meets. We are looking forward to continuing this mission this Fall!
