Mike Nedrow
Assistant Coach

Coach Mike swam with Lancaster Aquatic Club back when the team was the only US Swimming Club in south central Pennsylvania.  He graduated from Elizabethtown High School before they had a swim team and is a four year varsity veteran of Cornell University [D1/Ivy League].  In the early 1980s, Mike held all the Mid-Penn Summer Swim League individual and relay records at E-town’s Willowood Swim Club [except breaststroke, which his brother held].  He specialized in 100/200 backstroke at Cornell and often led the 4x100 freestyle relay.

Swimming is a welcome distraction from Mike’s day job as a tech industry global executive.  Mike and his wife Kelly raised 4 children [including triplets] in the Conestoga Valley School District.  All four learned to swim.  One daughter, Lauren swam competitively through college and is a Past President for the University of Pittsburgh Club Swim Team.  Mike and his family moved to Lancaster from Canada and joined the Leola [CV] Summer Swim Team in 2008, where Mike began volunteering as a stroke and turn judge.  He is now certified at the Starter level with US Swimming, and often officiates local NCAA, PIAA and Lancaster Summer League swim meets.  Mike has a long history of volunteer experience with youth through Scouts Canada and the Boy Scouts of America.  Mike’s understanding of the swimming rules [as an official] as well as his personal swimming experience [as an athlete] will be valuable tools to assist swimmers with stroke development and a competitive mindset.

Lyndsey Nedrow
Assistant Coach

Lyndsey is entering her first year as a swim coach. Drawing from her experience as a swimmer at LAC and Diplomats during her youth, she loves to help novice swimmers kick-start their swimming journey. She has extensive experience working with children ages 7-13, as a wilderness educator teaching sea kayaking to 7-11-year-olds and outdoor skills to 11-13-year-olds, including aquatic rescues and swimming, at a BSA summer camp.  In high school, she swam with the Conestoga Valley Swim Team, eventually leading the team as captain. She has been a lifeguard for over 6 years and now holds an instructor certification with the Red Cross.

Lyndsey worked hard for her swimming accomplishments. She believes everyone can learn to swim and this sport helps youth build more than just speed in the pool. Swimming is an invaluable lesson on perseverance, mental endurance, personal achievements, work ethic, and goal setting. With her B.A in Psychology from Gettysburg College, Lyndsey loves to help all swimmers grow and achieve their goals, not just in the water, but in all aspects of their life as well.
