MARLINS

The Upper Merion Marlins are a parent run non-profit organization (501c3)  which provides a structured program open to any individual of any age who wishes to participate in competitive swimming and/or diving.  We are part of the Suburban Aquatic League (SAL) and a certified USA Swimming (Middle Atlantic) program.  We compete in dual meets with other SAL teams from November – February, as well as USA meets in the fall & winter short course season from September to March, and the spring & summer long course season from April to early August.

MINNOWS

In addition to our competitive team, we also offer a pre-team (Minnows) program and a spring Clinic featuring swim lessons as well as team training to help our athletes prepare for summer swimming.  In all our programs, we aim to foster a love of aquatic sports and a life-long commitment to water fitness.

Through rigorous practice and regular competition, our aquatic athletes:

  • build physical endurance and strength
  • develop self-motivation
  • hone their ability to concentrate
  • practice self-discipline
  • learn to perform comfortably under pressure
  • focus on individual development and achieving personal bests
  • make lifelong friendships

UMAC's Mission Statement:

Our mission is the development and expansion of swimming as a sport, as part of a wellness regimen, and as recreation for all age groups. We are not just a team, but a community of parents and swimmers. Through our programs, we promote the development of our swimmers as athletes and as individuals; we aim to produce well-rounded swimmers who combine a life-long love of the sport with enhanced levels of self-discipline, personal responsibility, sportsmanship, and community-mindedness. Any swimmer who demonstrates good character and dedication to swimming will always be welcome on our team.
