Clippers Swim Team

Columbia Aquatics Association

Maryland Swimming
Level 4

Swimming is a labor of love! It is an intensive sport and our team depends on parental support for its continued success.  A typical swim meet has 300 volunteer jobs. We need timers, officials, safety marshals, concessions workers, clerks of course, computer operators, people do set-up and clean-up, and more. In addition to swim meets, we host several team events during the year that need people to plan, coordinate, and run.

We are lucky that the income generated at our swim meets is enough to fund our team activities without asking you to sell pizzas, magazines, or cookie dough. Your volunteering makes that possible.

A commitment to volunteering is essential to make the Clippers run as smooth as possible. As such, each family is required to complete 4 volunteer credits during the swim season. Each credit is one volunteer job. There are jobs before, during and after the meets that can put your good talents to use. There are also jobs that need to be done year round and are not tied to swim meets. Please review the list volunteer opportunities and pick one suited to your abilities. When we get the right number of volunteers the meets we host run smoothly. When ALL FAMILIES pitch in and help, no one individual or family is over-burdened. We have an EXCELLENT record of volunteerism from the large majority of Clippers families; however participation is not 100%. We are hopeful that this year will be another fun and productive season for all of our swimmers! Thank you in advance for your willingness to help out.
