Events Jobs (5% of all Volunteer Opportunities)

To help families plan your Clippers year, below is a description of the possible event jobs available for each portion of season. Please do not wait until the end of the year to volunteer as your family will be faced with limited choices to meet your credit requirements.

Apparel Try-on Nights (August/September): works with Administrative Chair. Helps unload apparel from vendor truck, assist where needed, and load back on vendor truck.

Welcome Back Party (September)

·         Check-in: Set up table. Check in swimmers as they arrive, a list of swimmers will be provided for you.  Inform the swimmers of the events happening for the night. Guard the door as the night goes on so that swimmers are not leaving without an adult to get them for the younger children.  Enforcing that once someone has left, they cannot return.

·         Set up/Clean up: Break down/clean up the table at the end of the night and return the attendance lists to Carolyn.

·         Food server-At this party we will be serving pizza and cake.  You are responsible for setting up the table(s).  Cutting and serving the food with gloves.  Keeping track of who has eaten before seconds are given out.  Cleaning the table(s) and space and disposing of trash and recycling properly before leaving.

·         Safety Marshal*: Marshals will be placed in high traffic areas and near doors to maintain safety and security.  We plan to have 8 safety marshals because this is intended to be a drop-off event and we need extra adults available in case of emergency, even for the older swimmers. People in this position should not spend the evening on their phone.  Marshals may be assigned in the Splashdown Tower; outside of locker rooms to be sure that the locker rooms are being used appropriately; near the stairs to help remind the swimmers to walk; in the baby pool area to keep the swimmers out of the baby pool; etc....  Please remember you are the adult. You are expected to correct behavior that does not seem safe or in accordance with respecting oneself, teammate(s), or facility.  Please be sure that you feel comfortable correcting the swimmers in this position.

Apparel Distribution (October): works with Administrative Chair to distribute pre-ordered spirit wear, swimsuits, and equipment.
