Below are general guidelines for determining which training group to sign an athlete up for. However, deciding which group an athlete belongs to and when an athlete is ready to move groups will ultimately remain with the coaches.
They will consider several factors when making these decisions, including swimming times, swimming abilities, emotional and mental readiness, attitude, and age. Overall, our goal at CMA is that all athletes are in the training group that will be most beneficial for them. That is, the coaches aim to ensure that athletes belong to the group that best allows them to work hard, have fun, and learn and grow in the sport of swimming!
If you have more questions about athlete training groups, contact CMA head coach Mack Sathre.
