YMCA Membership

Because the swim team is a YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities program, each Swim Team member must also be a member of the YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities. The membership fee varies depending upon whether you have a youth or family membership. Arrangements for becoming a YMCA member should be made at the membership Desk at your YMCA location. Your membership allows you full use of all of the YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities facilities.

All swimmers under the age of 10 must be accompanied to practice by a parent or an adult guardian. This person must stay in the facility with their swimmer during practice.

Seasonal Program Fee

Becoming a member of the YMCA Swim Team means fun, fitness, and teamwork. It also means a financial obligation. At first glance, it may seem as if the swim team is expensive. However, when taking into account the hours of coaching your swimmer receives for his/her program fee, the swim team offers a great value for a team experience designed to promote self-esteem, self-discipline, and good sportsmanship.

The YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities Swim Team charges each swimmer a seasonal fee. The fees are dependent upon the group which your swimmer is placed in and may change as your swimmer moves from group to group. Our 2016-17 Fall/Winter fees are:

Swim Team – Novice Full Season: $335

Swim Team Novice Early End/Late Start: $230

Swim Team – Age Group Full Season: $360

Swim team – Age group – Early End/Late Start: $245

Swim Team – Senior Full Season: $385

Swim Team – Senior Early End/Late Start: $260

"If your swimmer qualifies for the regional meet during the regular season, and they choose to continue with the team and swim at the regional meet there will be a $75 fee for the practice dates of February 19^th through the March 17^nd. The regional meet will be Saturday and Sunday March 18-19th at the University of Iowa. The $75 will [also] cover the entry fee to this meet."

Swim Team program fees are eligible for the YMCA Personal Pricing Plan based on financial need. The amount eligible for discount is equal to the percentage the participant or family receives through their membership discount. 

Swim team is not eligible for the Early Bird registration promotion.

Financial Assistance

The YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities offers program and membership assistance through our donations generated through our YPARTNERS program and made available through our Personal Pricing Plan. If you are in need of Financial Assistance, the swim team asks that you apply through the YMCA of Greater Twin Cities Personal Pricing Plan for assistance with their membership and program fees. Applications for the PPP are available at the member service desk.
