13 Gator swimmers decided to crawl along their own sinewy paths this past Saturday down to the Maple Grove Middle School pool for a little Short Course action with a bunch of TUNA in the water. One can easily understand the attraction to a Gator: a smaller pool, filled with tuna, right there for the Gator's enjoyment. Needless to say, our Gator swimmers swam very hungry. And there was only one way this meet could go - only 1 possible outcome - CHOMP!!! Our Gator Swimmer of the Meet Mia...

Competing at the National Championships is a big deal in any sport. It's quite an honor, for it represents the ultimate in achievement for that sport. For example, just check out what has been going on recently in basketball. Well, it's no different in swimming, especially @ the YMCA level. 1,177 swimmers, representing 171 different YMCAs from around the country, competed this past week in the 2024 YMCA Short Course National Championship (Y-Nats). The 5-day meet was held @ the Greensboro Aquatic Complex in North Carolina. 5 St. Cloud YMCA...

22 of our 33 Gator YMCA State Championship swimmers also made the long trip to Marion, IA this past weekend (and drove home in a blizzard) to compete in the 2024 YMCA North Central Regional Championships. And we can say this, once again, about how our Gator swimmers performed: C H O M P ! ! ! For the record, the following 8 Gator swimmers swallowed-up all the competition to win the following Regional Championship events. Charlie Bobick won every event he swam. Many of them were new Meet Records...

Attention Members: FYI: Management has now instructed the Head Coach to charge to all Member Accounts those Meet Entry Fees and Monthly Member Dues that were NOT charged peviously. For example, the mid-November Meet Entry Fees for the West Fargo IMX swim meet were never applied. Also, a few swimmers swam for Free for a few months, because their accounts were not re-instated after HS Season. It is fine to pay these charges off, once they are applied, periodically. Go Gators!

Championship Season continues. And with so many meets, some may certainly find it hard to keep track. On the USA Swimming side of our competitive ledger, Minnesota Swimming holds 3 separate championship meets for the different age groups. Last weekend, the 10 & Unders and the Senior swimmers went at it. This past weekend, the 11-14 year old swimmers took their turn @ the U of M pool. These are really fast swim meets. Fast QTs, big & fast fields of competitors. Full on. Only a few of our Gators...

This past weekend, a few Gator swimmers followed up on their commitment to compete against the very best swimmers the state of Minnesota has to offer. Minnesota Swimming held both its Senior Short Course Championships and its 10 & Under Short Course Championships on the same weekend. And a few of our Gator swimmers were up for the challenge at these most competitive of swim meets. Izzy Westling, Megan Willenbring and Evan Scapanski swam @ Senior Champs @ the U of M pool, and both Olivia Willenbring and Jolif Chu...

Just a couple of short weeks after our YMCA State Championship, over a dozen Gator swimmers made the trip down to New Prague, of all places, to swim in Minnesota Swimming's Short Course Regional Champs meet down there. On the line were several key spots in this year's USA Swimming versions of Short Course Champs, which are extremely competitive. Win and you're in was theme. Of course, swimmers could also qualify the old fashioned - by actually posting the Qts. You better believe our Gators were happy they went, because...

33 Gators unfurled their dangerous scaly tails and barred their sharp, white chompers at the competition this past Sunday at the 2024 YMCA Short Course State Championships. And the competition should have, if they hadn’t already, been fully aware of the impending attacks. Indeed. Our Gators devoured the entire field 18 times at the meet, bringing 18 individual event State Championships back to St Cloud with them. And what proved a most munchable dessert frosting were the 5 relay State Championships that also filled their hungry maws. All that can...
