Will Siegel Wins 18&U 10K at Open Water Nationals

Will Siegel (Long Island Aquatic Club) swam in the Men's National 10K at the USA Swimming Open Water National Championship in Sarasota, Flordia earlier today, competing with America's best open water swimmers and contingents from Australia, Canada, and Japan. Siegel finished in 1:54.26, placing 7th overall and 1st among swimmers age 18 and under.  

Oliver Shao and Benjamin Robins (Badger Swim Club) also competed in the 10K, finishing 38th and 43rd respectively. Sophia Karras (Unattached) and Alex Siegel (Long Island Aquatic Club) competed in the Women's National 10K. Karras placed 12th with a 2:08.46, and Siegel finished 15th overall in 2:09.53, placing 4th among 18 & under swimmers.

Tomorrow, competition resumes with the 5K Junior National Championships featuring Metro swimmers Milly Birch (Asphalt Green Unified Aquatics), Lauren Canty, (Long Island Aquatic Club), Jane Chevalier (Badger Swim Club), Una Diaz (Long Island Aquatic Club), Mila Fisher (Long Island Aquatic Club), Emily Jukic (Asphalt Green Unified Aquatics), Charlotte Kohner (Long Island Aquatic Club), and Penelope Wheaton (Asphalt Green Unified Aquatics) for the girls, and Callen Carney (Long Island Aquatic Club), Bruce Qian (Asphalt Green Unified Aquatics), and Jayden Yun (Long Island Aquatic Club) for the boys.
