Representative Elections
2026-2028 Term


The Metropolitan Swimming LSC annually elects an Athlete Representative to serve on the Board of Directors and the Athletes Committee. Athlete Representatives are elected for 2-year terms, and are expected to perform the following duties:

1. attend Metro House of Delegates, Board of Directors, and Committee meetings,
2. call, prepare agendas for, and preside at Athlete Committee meetings,
3. represent Metro Athletes in Eastern Zone and USA Swimming meetings
4. any other duties required by the Metro House of Delegates

 

Athletes interested in serving as Athlete Representative must:

1. be an athlete member in good standing;
2. be at least a sophomore in high school or at least 16 years of age on or before 4/1/26;
3. be currently competing, or have competed within the three (3) immediately preceding years, in the program of swimming conducted by MRSI or another LSC; and
4. have their place of permanent residence in the territory (that portion of New York State south of and including the counties of Sullivan, Orange and Dutchess) and expect to reside therein throughout at least the first half of the term (other than periods of enrollment in an institution of higher education)

February 12, 2026 — Voting Opens — paper ballots available at Senior Mets. Others may vote by email online.
March 13-15, 2026 — Paper ballots available at Junior Mets and 15-18 Team Challenge. Last weekend to vote by paper or online.
March 15, 2026 at 11:59 PM — Voting closes
April BOD Meeting — Winners announced
May House of Delegates — Term begins for new Junior Rep
