The Butte Tarpons are excited to compete at the Montana Swimming Long Course State Championships in Bozeman July 25-27. Representing the team are Grant Robins, Xana Skocilich, and Teyla Williams. Grant will compete in seven events. Xana will race in four events, and Teyla will complete in three events. Go Tarpons!

Tarpons make big splash at state meet 3/12/2014 The Montana Standard The Butte Tarpon Swim Team had a strong showing at the Montana Swimming Short Course Championships this past weekend at the University of Montana. The Tarpons sent only 12 swimmers to the event but finished with 37 points in the combined team standings. Grant Robins, 12, turned in an impressive showing for the boys’ team, while Taylor Bushman, 8, did likewise for the girls. Josiah Dunham captured 4th place in the 50 breast and 8th place in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke. Parents are a critical component to our overall goal to protecting children from sexual abuse. The comprehensive online programming includes information about how offenders operate; how to recognize and respond to boundary violations, myths and facts about child sexual abuse and USA Swimming’s Athlete Protection Policies and Procedures. There is also a free Safe Sport for Athletes training available on line at USA Swimming. Parents are encouraged to watch...

USA Swimming passed new policies regarding bullying as well as electronic communication between adults and minors. All clubs by January 14, 2013, had to adopt their own policies dealing with these topics or by default would adopt the model policies set forth by USA Swimming. BTST by default has adopted the USA Swimming policies. All these policies must be reviewed with and agreed to by parents, athletes, coaches, and all adults associated with the team. The policies are posted under Documents under the Bullying Elec Comm tab.

As of October 7, 2012 deck changing is prohibited. Each meet sanction must include this statement: Deck Changing is prohibited: Changing into or out of swimsuits other than in the facility locker rooms, or other designated area designated by the host facility, is not appropriate, and is prohibited.
