NC 14&Under Champs Results

North Carolina 14&Under Champs

GCY finished 12^th OVERALL at this year’s NC 14&Under Champs, and the GIRLS were 10th Overall!  We had several top 8/top 16 finishes, team records, best times, and NC Select Camp Invitees, and new YMCA National cuts!

Here are some highlights:

1. 2 swimmers finished as high as SECOND PLACE overall – Omega Pinnix in the 50 breaststroke (3rd in 50 free and 100 breast), and Laurel Kiselis in the 100 freestyle (4th in the 50 free).
2. 4 swimmers placed in the top 5 individually and earned invitations to this season’s North Carolina Select Camp!  Congratulations to those swimmers: Omega Pinnix, Laurel Kiselis, MacKenzie Campbell, and Morgan Jones!
3. 4 swimmers from the 9-10 girls 200 Medley Relay finished 5^th overall, and led the way throughout most of a tightly contested race!  Congratulations to Morgan Jones, Omega Pinnix, MacKenzie Rider, and Sarah Crump!
4. East Dockery broke her FIRST team record, and just missed a NC Select Camp Invite by earning 6th Place in the 50 backstroke, with a lifetime best of 29.57!
5. INDIVIDUAL scorers, or Top 16, included Omega Pinnix, Laurel Kiselis, MacKenzie Campbell, Morgan Jones, and East Dockery!
6. SCORING RELAYS included Sarah Crump, MacKenzie Rider, Omega Pinnix, Morgan Jones, Alaina Joyce, Virginia Gilliland, MacKenzie Campbell, East Dockery, Craig Herndon, Trennon Clapp, Larson Hunsucker, and Tanner Dunham.
