Banquet, pancakes, long course and a lake? Goggle-Up!

Below are some important updates, for all swimmers all levels, concerning our 2012-2013 Awards Banquets, pancakes, our 2013 long course season, a lake swim where everyone can compete, and a chance for everyone to goggle-up!

Important long course updates:

1. The newly announced Cinco de Mayo Meet in Cary, NC has just replaced our previously scheduled NSS A+ Meet in Charlotte, NC on May 3-5 – the main reason – all ages and all levels get to swim! For more information on why we did this, see the CINCO DE MAYO MEET INFORMATION PAGE. Deadline to sign-up is this Thursday, April 18th!
2. Meet deadlines are EXTREMELY CRITICAL for long course – last year we were able to get in every meet we scheduled, but other teams were closed out and in year’s past we have been closed out.  There are 3 meets that we have been told will be filled, where our deadline is VERY EARLY:
   1. YBAC LC Invitational at the GAC on May 18-19 – Our meet deadline is April 21^st
   2. HP Furniture City Meet in Jamestown on June 14-16 – Our meet deadline is April 25^th
   3. Eastern Invitational at the GAC on June 20-23 – Our meet deadline is also April 25^th
3. After the 4 meets mentioned in 1 & 2 above, the only other LC Meets are championship meets: 14&Under Champs, Tar Heel States, and YMCA Nationals (most swimmers will be doing 1 of these 2, NO MORE than 2 out of 3 please!)
4. OPEN WATER SWIM – Masters, parents, coaches, and swimmers will compete in this one day AWESOME event – click OPEN WATER SWIM for more information!

• April 27^th- LONG COURSE KICK-OFF BREAKFAST at the Mendelson’s House
• April 28^th– GCY’s Annual Spring Awards Banquet at Camp Weaver
• June 2^nd– GCY Goggle-Up Invitational at Bryan YMCA (short course yards) – OPEN to all Mako Swim League and GCY swimmers! EVENTS mirror Greensboro Summer CSA format and you get to pick UNLIMITED events!
