GCY excels at Greensboro City Champs
The Greensboro Community Swim Association's City Championships this past weekend were as big and as fast as ever, and GCY stood center stage! Even though we do not compete as a team in this event, we really saw some great performances and wanted to make you aware of how the swimmers did!
Here are a few of the GCY highlights:
- 6 Individual Meet Records - Noah Rock - 25 Fly, Omega Pinnix - 50 Fly, McKenzie Campbell - 50 breast, East Dockery - 50 back, Heather Sigmon - 50 back, and McKenzie Cole - 50 breast
- 4 Golden Swimmers - Noah Rock, McKenzie Campbell, Omega Pinnix, and Craig Herndon
- 1 Finn Award Winner - Jacob Seeber
- 18 Gold Medals - Noah Rock(3), McKenzie Campbell(3), Omega Pinnix(3), Craig Henrdon(3), East Dockery, Heather Sigmon, McKenzie Cole, Morgan Jones, Agnes Cruz, and Emily Ally
- Multiple top 3 podium finishes (we went 1-2-3 in some events, 1-2-3-4 in one event)!
We had multiple best times and finals/consolation finals swims, GCY swimmers were also significant parts of relays wins and relay records, and several swimmers had great bounce back performances after a setbacks (setbacks both medically and performance based with multiple swimmers).
We don't know exactly where to stop because there were other significant breakthroughs and swims, but we did want to point out these accomplishments!
