GCY Swim Team: GCY, NC, YMCA, and National Rankings!
GCY swimmers are swimming fast!
We have 37 swims on the current North Carolina Swimming Top 10 list, including 3 times at #1! Congrats Laurel Kiselis (#1 in the 50 free and #1 in the 100 free in North Carolina) and Heather Sigmon (#1 in the 100 back in North Carolina)! Other NC Top 10 ranked swimmers include Adam Martin, Omega Pinnix, Emily Ally, Ryan Kellum, McKenzie Campbell, Virginia Gilliland, Gil Cruz (top 3), Alex Strasser, Alex Kreager, McKenzie Cole (still pops up because he's 18, unattached), and Jake Ennis (top 3).
But it doesn't stop there....in National YMCA competition, we can see several national rankings, but that official list will not start until AFTER January 1st...we believe it to be unofficially about 10 times right now just going by those that made the NC Top 10 list and what it took last year.
USA Swimming keeps an updated list weekly and currently 5 GCY swimmers are showing up - this is the country's top list for all swimmers, and by far the toughest to make:
- Heather Sigmon - 10th in the United States (100 back)
- McKenzie Campbell, Aleah Black, Virginia Gilliland, and Alaina Joyce - 18th in the United States (800 free relay) for 14&Under girls
