GCY Swimmer Wins the 10K (Poseidon) at NC Open Water Champs!

GCY's Morgan Davis topped all Poseidon swimmers and brought home the most unique individual trophy that NC Swimming hands out, the Poseidon 10K Championship!  The Poseidon is a 10K SWIM, that's correct, 6.2 miles in the water, and Morgan did it faster than anyone else in NC!  GCY has had several swimmers complete the Poseidon, but this is the first time we've had the fastest female, congratulations Morgan!  GCY also had 3 other swimmers who completed that race this season: Micah Kimel (first time Poseidon finish), Olivia Romine(*), and Hayley Salthouse (youngest finisher!). *Olivia did this 10K challenge for the 3rd straight season, and now officially has the longest current active streak at completing the toughest distance offered in our sport.  Others making the podium in other events included Coach Brad (3rd in the Masters Mile) and Craig Herndon (1st in the Open 2K swim, 5th among 13-14's).

Congratulations to all that turned out for this incredible event - if you were not able to go this year, put it on your calendar for 2016, the first weekend in June, it was a great event!
