Season ends in March; depending on state qualifying times and other meets to be announced.
We welcome swimmers to start at any time during the season regardless of season start dates listed above - the Marlins offer a flexible practice schedule and meets are not required. We encourage new families to work with the coaches on when their swimmer is ready to try a meet.
Registration Group Fees and Payment Options
After clicking the registration link, you'll be prompted to select your Registration Group. Then after you Add To Cart, you can adjust your payment option. Options include: Pay in Full or Payments.

*Payments are not a monthly fee, they are the cost of the season broken down into installments.
Senior options reflect the different lengths of girls and boys high school seasons and to provide flexibility for athletes.
Swimmers must be registered with the Marlins BEFORE attending practice. Attendance will be taken to ensure swimmers have paid for the appropriate registration group.
Senior high school swimmers may change their season length by upgrading their registration, but may not downgrade their registration. Exceptions are only in the case of prolonged injury - reach out to Coach Pat if this applies. Changes can then be communicated to the Swimming Registration Director at [email protected]
Choosing a Registration Group
Senior team: Swimmers in 7th-12th grade in Fall 2025
Age Group team: Swimmers ages 8-12 who are ready to swim all 4 strokes. Practices are 90 minutes in length, up to 5 times a week.
Developmental: Swimmers 12 and under who are primarily focused on freestyle and backstroke. Practices are 60 minutes in length, up to 3 times a week. This is a great option for brand new swimmers!
Not sure if your swimmer is Age Group or Developmental? Reach out to Coach Pat and he can help you decide. With coach approval, if a swimmer needs to change registration groups mid-season after an initial evaluation, adjustments can be made by emailing [email protected]

Family Volunteer Requirement
Each family will be expected to volunteer 15 hours during the Short Course season. Volunteering helps bring in additional funds for the club and allows us to keep our registration fees and meet fees stable. Unfulfilled volunteer hours will be billed at $25/hour at the end of the season. Options will be communicated throughout the season but some examples are included below:
- Serving as a USA Swimming Official
- Serving on the Marlins Board of Directors
- Numerous volunteer roles will be available for our home meets (Dec 15, 2025 and Feb 14, 2026). Roles include working the concessions, selling programs, timing, and more.
- Timers will be needed at both State meets (Feb 21-22, 2026 and March 19-22, 2026).
- Participating in either the Greater Moorhead Days parade or Moorhead Homecoming parade.
- FargoDome concessions - watch for 2 dates this Fall, likely working at home Bison football games.
