Greetings MARLINS Swimming FAMILY

week #7 of our 2025/2026 Short Course Season for our Senior Team...we are gonna start getting after it and work our way into swimming shape both at morning practices and evening practices...

week #6 of our 2025/2026 Short Course Season for our Age Group and Developmental Teams...IM for week #6… practices are oriented towards stroke work and skill development

continuing to make PROGRESS!

 

NEW Information:

  • this is week# 6 and 7 of our swimming season ;)
  • Senior Team morning practice @Moorhead High School (MHS) this week on Monday, Wednesday & Friday @6:00am - 7:30am        
  • Senior Team morning practice @Hulbert Aquatic Center (HAC) this week on Tuesday & Thursday  @5:30am - 7:00am               
  • PLEASE check the schedule weekly for the most up-to-date practice schedule
  • we will NOT have access to the boys lockeroom at the beginning of practice PLEASE have boys come with suits on / if that is not an option boys may reach out to the coaching staff to get access to a changing area / the boys lockeroom will be available at the end of ALL practices
  • 2025-2026 Meet Schedule has been published
  • look for meet sign-ups so that your swimmers get signed up on time...we may not be able to get swimmers into meets LATE
  • TOUGH week for practice with 2 HOME SPUDS dual meets 
  • Sioux Falls, SD swimming meet on Saturday / Watertown, SD swimming meet on Sunday

General Information:​

  • ALL swimmers MUST be registered with Marlins Swimming of The NORTHERN LIGHTS (NLSA) & USA Swimming in order to practice.
  • Swimmers NOT registered with BOTH the Marlins & USA Swimming will not be able to practice, or they must register online at the pool in order to practice.  NO EXCEPTIONS...Thank you!
  • Swimmers that will be in 7th grade this fall '25 / register with the Senior Team (reach out to Coach Pat if you have questions)​

Protocols for Practice:

  • Practices at Moorhead High School (2300 4th Avenue S, Moorhead, MN 56560)  
    Enter thru the MAIN SCHOOL entrance to Moorhead High School door#19 (thru doors past weight room, turn right down the hallway to the pool on the left…use door by coaches office to enter the pool) which is a turn left down the hallway once you get to the pool
  • Illness -  PLEASE keep your swimmer(s) home from practice if they are running a fever, are nauseous, vomiting, or may be contagious to others. β€‹Thank you for working with us to keep everyone safe and maintain our opportunity to swim!!
  • DROP OFF/PICK UP at the POOL-

              1. Please wait until your swimmer(s) are inside the school doors / pool doors before leaving when dropping them off. 
                 We want to ensure the doors are open at the school / pool before your swimmers are left at the pool without a ride home

              2. Please come inside to pick them up as we have our swimmer(s) wait inside the school/ pool area.

 

Practice Attendance Expectations:

  • Senior Team (no limit on weekly practice attendance / would like at least 3 / practice attendance should be reflective of GOALS!)
  • Age Group Team (up to 5 practices weekly / would like at least 3)
  • Developmental Team (up to 3 practices weekly)

Evening practice:

  • 6:00pm - 8:00pm ... Senior Team @Moorhead High School POOL
  • 6:00pm - 7:30pm ... Age Group Team @Moorhead High School POOL
  • 6:00pm - 7:00pm ... Developmental Team @Moorhead High School POOL
  • 6:00pm - 6:45pm ... INTRO to competitive swimming MON session @Moorhead High School POOL

 

Tuesday, October  21st

Morning practice:

  • 5:30am - 7:00am ... Senior Team @Hulbert Aquactic Center (HAC) 

Evening practice:​

  • NO PRACTICE - Moorhead SPUDS vs Horace HAWKS dual meet @6pm  (Senior Recognition)

 

Wednesday, October  22nd 

Morning practice:

  • 6:00am - 7:30am ... Senior Team @Moorhead High School POOL  

Evening practice:

  • 6:00pm - 7:00pm ... Senior Team @Moorhead High School POOL *
  • 6:00pm - 7:00pm ... Age Group Team @Moorhead High School POOL *
  • 6:00pm - 7:00pm ... Developmental Team @Moorhead High School POOL
  • * 1 hour practices due to Moorhead Parks & Rec water aerobics

 

Thursday, October  23rd

Morning practice:

  • 5:30am - 7:00am ... Senior Team @Hulbert Aquactic Center (HAC) 

Evening practice:​

  • NO PRACTICE - Moorhead SPUDS vs Fargo Davies EAGLES dual meet @6pm  (LAST home meet of the season)

 

Friday, October 24th

Morning practice:

  • 6:00am - 7:30am ... Senior Team @Moorhead High School POOL

Evening practice:

  • 6:00pm - 8:00pm ... Senior Team @Moorhead High School POOL
  • 6:00pm - 7:30pm ... Age Group Team @Moorhead High School POOL
  • 6:00pm - 7:00pm ... Developmental Team @Moorhead High School POOL
