The Icebreakers team is a competitive youth swim team that supports the education, development, and growth of swimmers in the Central Vermont area. We are a member of USA Swimming and compete in USA Swimming sanctioned meets throughout the season.  

We believe that every swimmer who joins the CVSC Icebreakers brings a particular level of talent or natural ability. Coaches and swimmers on the Icebreakers work to help develop that potential in each person to the best of their ability. We measure success in the journey each swimmer takes to bring out his or her best and emphasize the value of hard work and sportsmanship both in and out of the pool. Icebreakers strive to develop life skills and confidence through the sport of competitive swimming. Swimming is an individualized sport that teaches persistence, personal improvement, and long-term goal setting. The CVSC Icebreakers promote a healthy, fun, and positive environment to reach those goals. All Icebreakers are expected to work hard in practice, encourage teammates, and respect other competitors, coaches, and officials. Our coaches bring a love of the sport to each swimmer on our team and have access to the most comprehensive training and certification program for youth coaches of any sport in the United States. We are a non-profit club, run by elected parent volunteers and a Board of Directors which meets each month. All members are welcome at each meeting and encouraged to be involved in team activities and fundraising.
