2025-2026 Winter Swim Season 

2025-2026 Central Vermont Swim Club Group Information *Information last updated 10/01/2025

The Central Vermont Swim Club offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of the Central Vermont Swim Club to offer age-specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR abilities.
 

Practices at Vermont State University at Johnson will begin on Monday, November 3, 2025.

Swim gear, team suits, and team logo gear are available on our affiliate site with Swim Outlet.  It can be found on www.SwimOutlet.com/CentralVermontSwimClub.

 

All swimmers will need to bring a water bottle and goggles and wear an athletic swimsuit that allows for full body movement. The team provides one swim cap each season.

 

Families that register multiple athletes for the FULL season receive a 10% discount.

 

Swimmers will be divided into the following groups.
 

Coaches have the discretion to change group levels as they deem appropriate for individual athletes.  If coaches feel your swimmer would benefit from being in a different group, they will both speak with the athlete and the caregivers.  If caregivers feel this is not a sound decision and/or have concerns after a conversation with the swimmer’s coach, please contact the head coach for further discussion.
 

JOHNSON PRACTICE GROUPS
Vermont State University in Johnson, VT

This program is held at the SHAPE pool on the campus of Vermont State University in Johnson, VT.  This program is open to new swimmers and returning swimmers age 6 to 18 with four group options.  All coaches are USA Swimming certified and ready to help your athlete learn and have fun!

1.) Full Season Competitive is a commitment to participate from 11/3/25 - 2/18/26.  See the practice calendar and Team Event calendar for special events and meets.  We encourage full season swimmers to participate in meets to explore the sport of swimming.  Meets are not required. No practices November 25-26, 2025 and January 19, 2026. No regular Johnson practice 12/24/25-1/2/26, however full season swimmers are invited to join practice at Norwich during those 2 weeks. 


2.) Session 1 November 3, 2025 - December 22, 2025 (no practice Tues/ Wed Nov 25-26)


3.) Session 2 January 5 - February 18, 2026 (no practice Mon 1/19/25)


Locker rooms are available, they are not exclusive to our program and are a shared space in the facility.  You may choose to arrive ready to swim and leave without locker room usage, or you may choose to use them but must be supervised by a parent or guardian on site.  Parents may wait in the lobby, cars, drop off or join the SHAPE facility.

BRONZE GROUP

Swimmers will be 10 and under and new or returning swimmers are welcome.  The focus is building fundamentals of stroke proficiency and swim terminology. Swimmers may want to compete but it is not mandatory. Swimmers must be competent in water over their head and know how to submerge, tread and float on their back.  The group will use the full pool, learn technique working toward all 4 competitive strokes, learn diving, and have fun. 

Practice Times: Monday and Wednesday 5:30 PM -6:15 PM

Payment Options:

  • ​Full Season Competitive
          Single payment plan: $400 at time of registration
          Two-payment plan: $200
          Monthly payment plan: $100 at time of registration and Nov, Dec, Jan on the 15th 

  • Session 1 - $225 due in full at registration

  • Session 2 - $225 due in full at registration

  

SILVER2 GROUP

Swimmers will be 10-15 years old and new to the swim team or returning with basic fundamentals, some muscle memory for different strokes, looking to gain proficiency, endurance, and strength. Swimmers may want to compete but it is not mandatory. Swimmers must be competent in water over their head and know how to submerge, tread and float on their back.  Stroke knowledge and experience is welcome but not required.  *This group has practice 2 Days a week only

 

Practice Times:  Monday and Wednesday 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM

Payment Options:

  • Full Season Competitive
          Single payment plan: $450 at time of registration
          Two-payment plan: $225
            Monthly payment plan: $112.50 at time of registration and Nov, Dec, Jan on the 15th 

  • Session 1 - $245 due in full at registration

  • Session 2 - $245 due in full at registration

SILVER3 GROUP
Target age is 11-18 years and returning to swimming or new high school swimmers. Swimmers should have muscle memory of all 4 competitive strokes, even if they are not legal (yet). The focus is to achieve legal competitive strokes, turns, starts, improve technique, while building endurance and strength. These practices are a great compliment to other sports. Swimmers may want to compete but it is not mandatory.
*This group has 3 practices a week at Johnson*  

Practice Times: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday 5:30 PM -7:00 PM

Payment Options:

  • Full Season Competitive
          Single payment plan: $600 at time of registration
          Two-payment plan: $300
            Monthly payment plan: $150 at time of registration and Nov, Dec, Jan on the 15th 

  • Session 1 - $325 due in full at registration

  • Session 2 - $325 due in full at registration

 

GOLD GROUP
Target age group is 13 and older and swimmers returning for at least a second season with a competitive focus. Swimmers have legal competitive strokes and turns, and will work on technique, endurance, strength, race specific training, turns, starts and building efficiency in strokes, as well as team building, perseverance & goal setting. *This group has 3 practices at Johnson and includes 2 additional practices at Norwich on Thursdays and Green Mountain Community Fitness on Fridays.

Practice Times: Monday, Tuesdays, & Wednesday 5:30 PM -7:00 PM at Johnson, Thursdays 7-8:15 at Norwich & Fridays 6-7:15 at GMCF

Payment Options:

  • Full Season Competitive
          Single payment plan: $750 at time of registration
          Two-payment plan: $375
           Monthly payment plan: $187.50 at time of registration and Nov, Dec, Jan on the 15th 

  • NO Session option for Gold
