Prerequisites:

*Swim 300 yards breaststroke/freestyle continuously

*Tread in deep water for 2 minutes using only legs

*Retrieve and swim on back with 10-pound object from depth of 7-12 feet (timed)

WE ALSO HAVE WATERFRONT COURSES (can be completed with lifeguard course) AND LIFEGUARD INSTRUCTOR COURSES (must be at least 17 yrs old and have at least 2 years of lifeguarding experience) Waterfront Video(right click and open in new tab)

BERKELEY AQUATIC CLUB LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION

New Student Lifeguard Course $320.00, checks payable to BAC ($10 student discount for each referral joining your class) 

CPR Masks are included.

*There's a $12 return check fee for any bounced checks. Certifications won't be distributed until the check has been cleared.

                               Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 10 am to 7:30 pm

                                                                  AND

                               Sunday, May 19, 2024 from 8 am to 8 pm

Dates and Times: ONLY      

Criteria for course completion and certification:

To successfully complete the lifeguarding course, you must:

-Attend and participate in all class sessions.

-Demonstrate competency in all required skills and activities.

-Demonstrate competency in all required final rescue skill scenarios.

-Pass both the written tests:

Section 1: CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer & First Aid

Section 2: Lifeguard Skills

Must pass written with a minimum of 80%

PLEASE BRING PAYMENT (in form of check paid to BAC or cash) AND ID TO THE FIRST CLASS. Waivers will be emailed to you to sign and bring in person or emailed back as soon as you enroll.

Items to bring: Swimsuit, ID (passport or student photo ID with birth certificate), Goggles, Snacks, Lunch, Warm clothes, Water, 2 to 3 Towels
