We want all of our ETA families safe during bad weather events.  Weather cancelations are made by the Program Head Coach. Notifications are sent out by email/SportsEngine App notification/Txt messages (to verified numbers) once the decision is made (usually about 30 mins prior to start of practice/class).  We are not able to respond in a timely manner to emails asking if practice is canceled.

ABOUT EAST TEXAS AQUATICS

East Texas Aquatics is proud to serve all youth and adults in East Texas. We offer a year-round swim team, learn-to-swim classes, Masters swim, a homeschool swim group, and Adult Lap Swim all in the luxury of an indoor, heated pool.

We also have a dry-land weight room, which is available to all team members at no additional charge.

East Texas Aquatics has provided swimming lessons and competitive swim opportunities in the Tyler area since 1972. Over the years, we have touched the lives of many of the youth in East Texas by not only teaching them life-saving skills, but by also teaching them discipline, work ethics and sportsmanship that follows them into their everyday life.

East Texas Aquatics is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization, with the daily operations run by a volunteer officer group who meets each month.

VISION STATEMENT

Infants, youth & adults will learn to survive and thrive through swimming.

Pool Office

ETA does not have devoted office staff durring regular business hours. However, we usually have a board member in the office during our regular afternoon/evening practice sessions Monday - Friday  3:45pm - 6:30pm. Please feel free to stop in to ask any questions or let us know your concerns, we're happy to help.

East Texas Aquatics is a rare team in that we are one of very few teams who own and operate our own facility.  We are not owned or managed by any school, city, or gym. The freedom to set our own schedules and make determinations as far as facilities, grounds, events, etc is lierating and frees our coaches to concentrate on coaching.  The attention given by our coaches has created an excellent atmosphere for the development of young swimmers.  Commitment to quality does not come without cost. Maintainance of a pool and facilities and retaining qualified coaching requires year around fixed costs.  These issues create a constant monthly expense and are just two of the numerous expenses incurred on an ongoing basis. In order to maintain a quality swim team, each of us must be willing to make certain commitments.  All families are expected to complete a certain number of service hours through events volunteering, supply purchases or regular help around the facility and grounds. The board sets the yearly hours and offsets.  See the  service hour agreement for details.  Additionally, the team undertakes certain other fundraising activities during the course of any given year.  Without the additional funds generated by the swim meets and other fundraising activities, membership dues would be significantly higher. A well-run swim meet or any other fundraising effort requires a large number of volunteers and participants.
