METRO
Tyler Metroplex (Metro) Swim Team is a competitive year-round team that offers swimmers the opportunity to build and develop their skills through 3+ sessions a week run by our highly qualified coaches. Metro swimmers have the opportunity to attend swim meets and refine their racing skills throughout the year. Swimmers must be evaluated to determine group placement and MUST be able to swim 25 yards unassisted. To set up an evaluation please complete the following Evaluation form about your swimmer, their age, and swim experience.
Metro Summer schedule will conclude Friday 7/25 and will resume with the 2025-26 schedule on Monday 8/18. Billing will still run as usual on 8/1 for monthly dues. Pool closures for Summer break, Holidays, and Christmas breaks are factored into the overall costs and broken down by 12 equal monthly payments.

Metro Dues
Metro dues are charged on the 1st of every month for the upcoming month. Balances in your account as of the 14th of the month receive a $15 late fee.
Yearly Metro dues are calculated and averaged evenly as monthly dues for each of our groups (Gold, Silver, Blue, White, and Red). Monthly dues are not based on the number of practices per month for each group. The monthly dues pricing considers Summer Break, Thanksgiving, Winter Break, and Spring Breaks.
How to view and signup for Metro Meets
All meet entries are done through the METROPLEX website (not the ETA website). Meet entries are the ONLY thing you will do through that website. Once registered with ETA we will create a Metroplex account for you. We will use the same email address as your ETA account, but you will set the password by clicking "forgot password" on your first visit. You DO NOT need to add billing or additional information to your Metroplex account, it is purely for meet signup and linking USAS registration.
The Metroplex website is linked here.
Once logged in --> click “Events & Competition” --> “Team Events” --> scroll down to the meet you would like and click “Attend/Decline” --> click your child’s name and then under “Declaration” select “Yes, please sign [swimmer’s name] up for this event”. You can then select the events for your swimmer and save. If you’re not sure, speak with your child’s coach.
Meet Fees
There are meet fees associated with attending meets. These entry fees are set by the host club and differ each meet. They are paid by our club (not an individual) at time of entry. Once the entry deadline has passed, if you are entered, your account will be billed no if you attend or not.
There is a $10 per swimmer, per meet coaching fee added to help cover costs of sending a coach to meets.
Multi-Swimmer Monthly Discount
After the highest paid full-priced monthly membership there is a 25% discount for the second swimmer and a 50% discount for each additional swimmer. Multi-Swimmer Monthly Discount does not go into effect until your second billing cycle. For most new members this occurs in October. This is to encourage and reward athlete retention
Registration Fees
Multi-Swimmer Registration Discount - There is a $15 discount for the second child for the registration fee, and $30 of the registration fee for 3 or more children.
Registration for the groups that have a "one time fee" are for those swimmers who are continuously enrolled. Once membership is canceled, the registration fee will need to be paid again when restarting membership.
As part of the Metro Swim Team you will be required to adhere to the Metro Gear/Uniform policy. Further details about required gear can be found in the registration links and through the Metro Store link on the home page.

Financial and Other Commitments
East Texas Aquatics is a rare team in that we are one of very few teams who own and operate our own facility. We are not owned or managed by any school, city, or gym. The freedom to set our own schedules and make determinations as far as facilities, grounds, events, etc is lierating and frees our coaches to concentrate on coaching. The attention given by our coaches has created an excellent atmosphere for the development of young swimmers. Commitment to quality does not come without cost. Maintainance of a pool and facilities and retaining qualified coaching requires year around fixed costs. These issues create a constant monthly expense and are just two of the numerous expenses incurred on an ongoing basis. In order to maintain a quality swim team, each of us must be willing to make certain commitments. All families are expected to complete a certain number of service hours through events volunteering, supply purchases or regular help around the facility and grounds. The board sets the yearly hours and offsets. See the service hour agreement for details. Additionally, the team undertakes certain other fundraising activities during the course of any given year. Without the additional funds generated by the swim meets and other fundraising activities, membership dues would be significantly higher. A well-run swim meet or any other fundraising effort requires a large number of volunteers and participants. The largest in the summer, the annual Lap A Thon, allows us to do the major projects that the facility needs from time to time. Please make sure to participate.
Dues:
Tyler Metro depends upon prompt payment to meet the club's financial obligations for the coaches’ salary, pool expenses, taxes, insurance, bills, etc. Dues are to be paid monthly. Dues and other fees are NOT prorated.
Financial Obligations:
A credit card or ACH must be kept on file for automatic monthly payments. Dues will be charged on the 1 st of each month.
In the event your card fails, payments must be received by the 15 th of each month or a $15 late fee will be assessed.
After the month, the swimmer(s) will not be allowed to participate in practice until all dues and fees are paid.
New members must pay an annual USA Swimming Registration fee, unless you are transferring from another USA Swimming team and have a current registration number. Their fee will be assessed with the USA Swimming Transfer Form.
When participating in a meet, your card on file will be charged for all fees after the meet. It is your responsibility to know the fees for each attended meet. They are listed in the meet information. A small coach fee will be added for each meet. After the meet deadline, the swimmer is responsible for the meet fees regardless of attendance.
Reinstatement Fee - Any break in monthly dues whether approved or not will incur a $60 reinstatement fee. The fee must be remitted before swimming can resume. This fee does not apply to pre-comp or homeschool groups returning from their normal extended class breaks.
Quitting the Team - Swimmers wishing to leave or suspend must print out and hand in the drop swim form TO THEIR COACH 10 days before the first of the month. After that deadline, families may billed for the following month and no refunds will be issued. Any unpaid dues will be due should the swimmer return.
For questions about your bill or changes in a swimmer’s status, please contact: info@easttexasaquatics.com For general questions please feel free to contact a member of the Board.
Practices - Certain coaches are at the pool for the different practices. TYLER METRO recognizes that swimmers may be assigned to different practices times and always tries to be flexible and exceptions may be possible. However space is limited and swimmers swimming in the wrong group will either hinder their development or interfere with the development of others. Please check the schedule tab above for the current schedule.
Equipment Needed
Beginner swimmers will need swimsuits (1 piece for girls), competitive swimwear is recommended, goggles that do not cover the nose, and a water bottle. Fins are highly recommended to make sure they have the correct size as well as a TYR gear bag (not string bags please) Pull buoys and kickboards are provided. METRO is sponsored by TYR. Therefore, when attending a METRO meet, all competition swimsuits, shirts, outerwear and gear bags MUST be purchased through the METRO Team shop. More information about team wear can be found on the website tab "Team Gear."
