2025 - Celebrating 70 Years!
On May 28, 1955, Woodley opened its doors for the first time. At the opening ceremony, outstanding young swimmers were timed in four strokes. Those times were used as the official records of our new pool and marked the beginning of our swim team.
One year later, Woodley, along with eight other pools, founded the Northern Virginia Swim League, now the largest summer league in the United States.

Charter Members of NVSL
Woodley Warriors Swim & Dive Team is located in Falls Church, Virginia, and is part of the Woodley Recreation Association Pool. To be a swim or dive team member, you must be a Woodley Recreation Association Member.
The Woodley Warriors include our Woodley Swim, Dive, and Mini Warriors teams. Our summer swim and dive programs are geared for swimmers and divers of all abilities ages 5-18. Woodley Swim and Dive are competitive teams in the Northern Virginia Swimming League ("NVSL").
NVSL was founded in 1956 to sponsor competitive swimming and diving events and activities among community swimming pools in Northern Virginia and to develop the children participating in this program. As one of nine founding members of NVSL, Woodley has always had an active swim and dive team. NVSL has grown to 102 pools participating and is the largest summer swim league in the country.
Our coaches strive to develop swimmers and divers of all levels of experience and ability while making summer swim and dive a fun and rewarding experience. Throughout June and July, our swim and dive teams participate in fun and competitive swim/dive meets and social events and finish the season with our end-of-the-season banquet. Join the Warrior fun!
