Enrichment Learn-to-Swim Program

FUNdamental Movement & Sport Skills

Frequency: 2 x 30min lessons per week
Ratio: 4 Children-to-1 Teacher

The OFS Swim Team Swim Lesson Program offers students a bi-weekly swimming class designed to teach them the fundamentals of both water safety and swimming skills. These programs are available throughout the year via the Enrichment Program.

This group uses fun to introduce swimming to young children, doing so in a safe and controlled environment. Featuring a tight swimmer-to- coach ratio of one to four, instructors remain in the water with the athletes and provide instruction in the competitive strokes. A goal of this group is to prepare children to be proficient enough to move into the Pre-Competitive Swim Squad.

Swimmers are typically placed into a group based upon age, ability, and commitment level. The OFS Tigers Swim Team strives to ensure that there is a place for all athletes who have a desire to swim competitively, whether the swimmer is new to year-round swimming or is preparing to compete at the national or international level. The coaching staff is also careful to maintain a swimmer-to-coach ratio that allows for an optimal teaching environment.

The OFS Tigers Swim Team is typically divided into two groups as well as further separated into stroke specific and training volume demands, though the group classifications may change from year-to-year depending on the needs and numbers of within the program, as well as the vision and philosophy of the coaching staff. The OFS Tigers Swim program emphasizes competing at ACSIS JS/MS/HS Championships, SNAGs, and Open Nationals, as well as the possibility of featuring at a World Cup, which is reserved for athletes who have not only attained World Cup Qualification but are also committed to consistently training at the highest possible level.
