USA Swimming
AMFY is dual-registered to compete in both YMCA of the USA meets and USA Swimming meets. Our team's primary focus is competition in YMCA meets. These are closed-competition meets with other YMCA teams. All AMFY swimmers are expected to participate in YMCA meets with our team. Your team dues cover all aspects of registration, but do not include meet fees for the actual meets.
In addition to YMCA meets, we also compete in meets run by USA Swimming teams and organizations. USA Swimming is the primary governing body for swimming in the country. We typically select 2-3 meets each season that offer a unique aspect or competition to aid in our competitive development. Our team's participation is geared towards swimmers who routinely have multiple AA cut times each season. No one is required to participate in USA meets, but all AMFY swimmers are welcome to participate if they pay registration fees.
AMFY'S USA SWIMMING REGISTRATION CATEGORIES FOR 2025-2026:
Premium Athlete (From September 1, 2025 to December 31, 2026): All 13 and overs must use this category
Flex Athlete (two meets, swam between September 1, 2025 and December 31, 2026): 12 and unders ONLY can elect this if they choose, otherwise can be Preimum
PARENTS MUST REGISTER THEIR OWN SWIMMERS
Parents are solely responsible to register and maintain their swimmers' USA membership. AMFY can give advice, but parents must complete the registration for its swimmers. The registration must be completed two weeks before a competition.

The USA registration fees are in addition to regular team dues. Registration fees go towards the actual cost of registering the swimmer with USA Swimming. Meet fees for the individual meets are in addition to any registration fees.
AMFY PLANS TO ATTEND THE FOLLOWING USA SWIMMING MEETS IN THE 2025-2026 SEASON
November 8-9: Holiday Turkey Meet (BGSU)
November 21-23: Senior Invite (BGSU), high school ages only
December 12-14: Makos Invite (Oxford), ages 11 and up only
January 23-25: WAVE Bischoff Medals Trials (Kettering/Dayton)
