NAAC would like to maintain a strong group of dedicated Team Family Swimming Officials who help support our team and events for the coming season. If you are interested in learning about how to become a USA Swimming Official, this page is for you!

If you are interested in becoming a USA Swimming Official we would love to have you join us!  Please review Ohio Swimming’s  "How do I become a USA Swimming Official?"  This document is helpful for you to know the steps involved in becoming an official. It may also be helpful for you to reach out to one of our own Team Officials and/or Kemal Oz, who's contact info is below.

STEP 1 - Register as an Official through your USA Swimming Family Account - NAAC will reimburse your membership costs!

STEP 2 - Follow the above link "Basic Steps" and complete all online items

STEP 3 - Contact Kemal Oz (below) to schedule your on deck shadowing of a current USA Swimming Official to get certified!

NAAC also pays deck officials $20 per session worked at all of our HOME MEETS!  More pay for MR or AO!

Ohio Swimming also offers an Officials page on their website with a bunch of info, and you will register as a non-athlete member of USA Swimming from the Ohio Swimming website.  You will need a background check as well (cost reimbursed), again at the links below:

And a reminder… As a continued incentive for us to maintain our team officials, this year NAAC will again offer SCY MEET FEE REIMBURSEMENT for our 2024-25 season (fall-spring) for swim families that have a NAAC official working our Home meets as follows (limit 10 families, and includes current team officials). 

• Full SCY meet fee reimbursement in late spring for 4 or more sessions within our HOME MEET schedule

We do ask that you tally your SCY meet fees for the season as well (usually in May, after our Spring Fling), so that we can double check all before reimbursement.  

Please submit receipts for reimbursement as indicated and we will help get you on track to help out as a USA Swimming Official!!
