Age Group Assistant Coach Job Description
Peddie Aquatic Association is in search of an energetic, part-time (hourly) age group swim coach to assist with coaching developmental level swimmers.
Practice times are in the evenings and Saturday mornings, Sept-July.
This individual will report to the lead coach and needs to assist with running workouts, respond to emails from staff, attend regular staff meetings, and understand how to navigate through a Team Unify website. Attending weekend swim meets will also be an expectation. Other minor duties may be assigned.
Ranked by the American Swimming Coaches Association as a 2021 Top 100 USA Age Group Team, PAA historically made its mark on USA Swimming by consistently placing among the top teams at Sectionals, Junior Nationals, the US Open, and US Nationals.
PAA trains out of the Peddie Aquatic Center which opened in January 2010, utilizing an eco-friendly design that saves thousands of gallons of water per year and decreases energy consumption overall. At 35 meters long and 25 yards wide, the pool can accommodate 15 lanes, which can be used for multiple aquatics programs at the same time.
Qualifications
Required qualifications include:
-Enthusiastic and knowledgeable about competitive swimming (This can include simply having swum for your high school and/or college or university team)
-An eagerness to learn more about competitive swimming as well as coaching developmental- and age group-level swimmers
-Availability, as mentioned above
Preferred qualifications include:
-Prior swim coach experience
-Prior experience working with swimmers of multiple ages and abilities
-Teaching swim lessons, etc.--
