SMAC Fundraising Page

As a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, we rely on the fundraising efforts from our families to support our swimmers throughout the swim season.

Every season we will have numerous opportunities for families to participate! The funds we raise will go specifically into the Booster Budget, which will help fund travel meets, equipment purchases, team social events, and financial aid.  Make sure you check back frequently for updates and new fundraising opportunities.  Please reach out to our Fundraising Director with any questions.

Swim-a-Thon

SMAC is committed to seeing the benefits of swimming made available to all kids who want to participate.  Therefore, SMAC has a very long tradition of providing financial aid and making significant efforts to diversify the sport of swimming.  We will use the first $50,000 raised from Swim-A-Thon to provide financial aid and outreach efforts, such as the Get Wet Program.  Additional funds raised (over the initial $50,000) will benefit the entire team.  This can include:  team travel meets, equipment purchases, and social events, and general operation.

By swimming with SMAC, each swimmer has a $125 fundraising obligation each year.  This is met by participation in the annual Swim-a-Thon.  If a swimmer does not fulfill the obligation by the conclusion of Swim-a-Thon, families will be invoiced for the remaining fundraising amount.

Swimmers will reach out to friends, family, and local businesses to ask for donations through email, phone calls, letter writing, and social media.  Don’t forget to ask donors to check with their employers for matching gift donations.

During Swim-a-Thon, swimmers will have a 2-hour period to swim a maximum of 200 lengths.

Company Matching Funds and Gifts

Many corporations will match donations to a non-profit organization; please refer to our list to see if yours is one of them. The company website should have a form employees fill out to apply for a matching donation (also called a matching gift). If you do not find one on the company website, a human resource representative at your company should be able to provide you with one.  You can find more information attached here: Company Matching Document
