Parent Job Commitment

 By joining the Rancho Colorados Swim Team, you and your family will play an integral role ensuring the success of our swim season. Our program can not succeed without the efforts of all parents.

The team and all meets are run by parent volunteers. Each family is required to fulfill certain volunteer jobs during the season, the final number of jobs will be determined after registration is complete. These jobs can include assisting with swim meets, social events or team management.

Types of jobs

Parents must volunteer for a combination of social jobs and meet jobs in order to fulfill their commitment. Certain jobs require training or a higher degree of trust or experience and may be pre-assigned. Be aware that some jobs may fill up quickly, therefore, we cannot guarantee that everyone will get their first choice of jobs. Descriptions of RC events can be found here and descriptions of jobs can be found here.

Job Expectations

All working parents must check in with the Meet Captain at the parent jobs table at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the meet to review logistics and ensure the meet starts on time. Please be on time for your commitment. Failure to show up, sign in on time (or leaving your shift early) will cause a $100 fine and may jeopardize your swimmer(s) participation in future meets and events. 

Substitutions

You may hire a substitute or use our list of pre-approved subs (which will be posted closer to the start of swim season.) If you hire a substitute, please email the Parent Job Coordinator with the name and contact information of your sub, along with the date, time and job you are having them cover. It is advised that you copy the sub on that email. Your sub MUST sign in with the Meet Captain at the parent jobs table under the name of the person they are working for.  

You are responsible for your substitute. Please make sure they understand that they must be on time and work their entire shift. If the sub does not show up or leaves early without proper coverage the $100 fine will be charged to your account.

Paid Subs

If you are interested in being a paid sub, please contact the Parent Job Coordinator. Please include the following information in order to be listed as an approved paid sub:

  • Name
  • Age (if under 18)
  • Contact information (email, cell phone #)
  • Previous swim or swim team job experience
