Here’s a full rundown on the swimming apparel your swimmer will need to dominate their strokes in speed and style, as well as guidance on swimsuit fit, spirit apparel and more.
This year, all apparel will be sold through Elsmore Swim Shop, a locally-owned swim store that will provide a high level of customer service to our team. In addition, a portion of all proceeds will go back to our swim team.

Swimming Essentials
Each swimmer is required to have the following items:
- A blue competition suit to be used at meets only. Note: See FAQ below for guidance on suits for swim practice vs. swim meet.
- A cap with the swimmer's LAST NAME ONLY. We recommend purchasing multiple caps, in case they tear.
All other items sold on the site are completely optional.
Please keep in mind that many of our home meets this season will run late into the evening. Warm clothing is usually necessary as the weather tends to cool down significantly. We encourage everyone to come out and show their Wahoo spirit. WEAR IT LOUD AND WEAR IT PROUD!

Apparel FAQ
How do I know what size to get?
We are offering a fit day at the pool on Wednesday, March 9 from 4–6 PM so your swimmer will have an opportunity to try on suits. If you miss the fit day, you can also try on suits at the Elsmore store in Walnut Creek.
I see there are multiple suit styles available, how do I pick?
There are multiple suit style options both for male and female swimmers.
For female suits, it is up to the swimmer’s preference. The best way to decide is to have your swimmer try each one on and decide which fit feels better.
For male swimmers, Coach Adrian highly recommends briefs over jammers. Briefs tend to fit better throughout the season. However, if your swimmer is uncomfortable in a brief, the jammer is fine for both practices and meets. The key is to pick something that the swimmer will want to wear and fits well in the pool. Note: It may be hard for some returning swimmers to transition from the jammer to brief style so we encourage new swimmers to start with a brief.
What should swimmers wear to practice?
SWIMMERS SHOULD NOT WEAR THEIR MEET SUIT TO PRACTICE. This puts extra wear and tear on the suit. Swimmers can wear any well-fitting competitive swimsuit (board shorts, leotards, and swimsuits with frills and decorations are not appropriate). We recommend wearing Wahoo suits from previous seasons or purchasing inexpensive practice suits through swimoutlet.com (recommend TYR grab bags), Elsmore swim shop, Costco, or Amazon.
I have a meet suit from last year that fits; do I need to purchase a new suit?
No, you can still wear a well-fitting suit from a previous season. That said, the new suits will have a new look and may fit differently. We recommend purchasing a new suit and using extra suits from previous years for swim practice.
Do I have to order spirit wear (t-shirts, bags, etc.)?
No. The only required items are a blue meet suit and a Wahoo swim cap.
Many of our Wahoo swimmers love showing off their Wahoo gear at practices and meets. Popular items include Wahoo shirts, swim bags, parkas, and flannel PJ pants. You’ll also see many families sporting hats and shirts at swim meets. All purchases help support the Rancho Colorados (RC) swim program. You won’t regret getting into the Wahoo spirit!
How will I receive my order?
All apparel orders except for swim caps will be shipped directly to your home. Orders over $49 will include free shipping. Your swim caps will be produced and shipped as a bulk order. As soon as RC receives the order, the apparel team will distribute them by placing them in your family folder at the club.
Last year I missed the ordering window. What if I need to place an order later in the season?
This year we have changed vendors and there is no longer a single ordering window for the whole team. If you need to order an item during the season, you can utilize the team store link above. Note: The shipping times may vary due to current volume of orders. Ordering by the date listed above will assure that you receive your order in advance of time trials.
