Registration Dates

Thank you for your interest in the Ashburn Farm Barracudas Swim Team. 

2025 Registration dates are as follows:

March 26, 2025 -  Returning Swimmer Registration for 2024 team members (swimmers) registered with the team at the close of the 2024 season, and whose family finished the season in good standing (fulfilled family volunteer requirements, etc.)

April 7, 2025 (space permitting) -- Ashburn Farm Resident Registration. This is for any family that resides within the Ashburn Farm Homeowners Association boundaries.

April 21, 2025 (space permitting) -- Non-resident Registration. **Note: If non-residents register prior to the registration date for non-residents, they will be removed from the team and placed at the bottom of the waitlist until the non-resident registration opens. If no space is available at that time, the registration will be canceled and charged a $25 administration fee.

2025 Registration Information:

**PRIOR TO REGISTERING**, please be sure to read the 2025 Barracudas Team Rules and FAQ's documents located in the DOCUMENTS tab on this website, as well as all the information on this page.

**Note: Residents are any families residing within the Ashburn Farm Homeowners Association boundaries.**

Registration fees for Ashburn Farm residents (residing within the Ashburn Farm Homeowners Association boundaries) will be $210 per swimmer.

Registration fees for non-Ashburn Farm residents will be $235 per swimmer.  

March 26, 2025 at 11 AM -- Returning Swimmer Registration for 2024 team members (swimmers) registered with the team at the close of the 2024 season, and whose family finished the season in good standing (fulfilled family volunteer requirements, etc.). **Instructions will be emailed to the 2024 swim team. **New siblings of returning swimmers will register on the appropriate April dates, depending on the family's residency status. See registration fees for your residency status below.

April 7, 2025 at 11 AM (space permitting) -- Ashburn Farm Resident Registration. This is for any family that resides within the Ashburn Farm Homeowners Association boundaries. Registration fees for Ashburn Farm residents will be $210 per swimmer. Click the REGISTRATION button on the HOME page on this day/time to register your swimmer.

April 21, 2025 at 12:01 AM (space permitting) -- Non-resident Registration. Registration fees for Non- Ashburn Farm residents will be $235 per swimmer. **Note: If non-residents register prior to the registration date for non-residents, they will be removed from the team and placed at the bottom of the waitlist until the non-resident registration opens. If no space is available at that time, the registration will be canceled and charged a $25 administration fee.

**** Swim team members are only allowed access to the pool during Barracudas events. Any other access to the pool must follow Ashburn Farm Homeowners Association pool entry rules and requirements. This applies to both residents and non-residents. ****

Don't forget, you MUST sign up for your required Volunteer positions in order for the Barracudas Swim Team to approve your athlete onto our team. Details can be found on the Parent Info>Volunteering tab of the website.

Fees/Refunds:

The registration fee is $210 per swimmer for Ashburn Farm resident swimmers (residing within the Ashburn Farm HOA boundaries). The registration fee is $235 per swimmer for Non-Ashburn Farm residents.

If you register and then decide to leave the team or the swimmer does not successfully complete the evaluation, you may request a partial refund by emailing the Team Admin at [email protected]. Refund requests must be received by May 31, 2025 to be considered. No refunds will be issued after this date. There will be a $25 non-refundable fee that applies to all registrations to cover administrative charges.

**PRIOR TO REGISTERING**, please be sure to read the 2025 Barracudas Team Rules and FAQ's documents located on the DOCUMENTS tab on this website, as well as the information on this page.

Swim Eligibility/Evaluations:

Swimmers must be at least 5 years old and may not be greater than 18 years old as of June 15, 2025.

ALL new swimmers to the team must attend an evaluation session on Tuesday, May 27th or Wednesday, May 28th from 5 – 6 PM at Summerwood Pool. This applies to ALL new swimmers, regardless of age. New swimmers CANNOT join the team unless they have successfully completed evaluations.

Swimmers must be capable of swimming a legal freestyle or backstroke for 25 meters safely and unassisted, without stopping or touching the bottom or side, within one minute (no doggy paddle). Additionally, swimmers must tread water or float in place for one minute. The swimmer will not be allowed to join the team unless they have successfully completed their evaluation. Due to the number of swimmers being evaluated, new swimmers only have one opportunity to pass the evaluation.

Coaches reserve the right to reconsider a swimmer’s qualifications within the first two weeks of practice.

NOTE: Barracuda coaches may not be trained or experienced in working with children with special needs. Parents of children with special needs must be available for their child at all times.

Attendance:

**We would love for swimmers to attend all practices and meets throughout the season.

However, to be sure the coaches can learn your child’s swim style and effectively coach your child over the course of the summer, we expect your child to attend at least two practices per week. The coaches will determine A-meet selection based upon several criteria, which includes practice attendance. Exceptions to this expectation will be made for family vacations, camps, and illness.
