The Greenview Dolphins is a registered non-profit organization operating as a 501(c)(3) entity, dedicated to providing comprehensive USA Swimming year-round, Instructional Training swim lessons and summer Columbia Swim League swim team to children in the Midlands. Established in 1969 as a summer swim team, the Dolphins initially participated in local summer swim meet within the Columbia area.

 

In recognition of the growing demand for high-quality swimming instruction, the Greenview Swim Team underwent significant development and expansion. In 2008, the team established an esteemed year-round swimming program affiliated with USA Swimming. This program serves as a platform for the holistic development of swimming skills, offering continuous Instructional training swim lessons and year-round competitive engagements.

 

With a steadfast commitment to nurturing young swimmers, the Greenview Dolphins strive to instill valuable life skills through their meticulously designed programs. By prioritizing, education, technique, physical fitness, and personal growth, the team creates an environment where athletes can flourish and cultivate a lifelong passion for swimming.

Coaching Staff

 

Stanley McIntosh

Coach McIntosh, a highly esteemed member of the Greenview Swim Team coaching staff since 1977, brings a wealth of experience and accomplishments. His impressive swimming background includes being a former member of the Drew Park Pool Sharks swim team and contributing to the success of the SC State University Aqua Dogs Swim Team as the 1975 MEAC Conference Champions. As the head coach for the Senior and Age Group divisions, Coach McIntosh's coaching excellence is evident through his leadership of the U.S. Youth Games National Championship swim team. Additionally, he holds important roles within the swimming community, serving as the Chairman of SC Swimming Diversity Equity Inclusion. With his multifaceted expertise and unwavering dedication, Coach McIntosh continues to inspire and guide the Greenview Dolphins to success.

 

Jerry Young

Coach Young is a highly accomplished member of the Greenview Dolphins coaching staff, bringing exceptional leadership and athletic prowess to the team. As a three-time Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference MVP and a distinguished member of the Allen University Athletic Hall of Fame, Coach Young's outstanding achievements are a testament to his dedication and skill. Since joining the Greenview Dolphins in 1998, he has made significant contributions as a coach, currently focusing on the Developmental group division. In addition to coaching, Coach Young serves as the lead instructor for Greenview Dolphins Instructional Training lessons, imparting his expertise and guiding swimmers in developing fundamental skills. With his impressive athletic background and unwavering commitment, Coach Young plays a pivotal role in the success and growth of the Greenview Dolphins swim team.

Tyler Aiken

Coach Tyler Aiken, an invaluable member of the Greenview Dolphins swim team, brings a wealth of expertise and diverse experience to his coaching role. With a Bachelor's degree in Sport and Entertainment Management from the University of South Carolina and an Associate's degree from Midlands Technical College, Coach Aiken combines his academic achievements with his passion for swimming. As a former member of the Ridgeview High School swim team, he understands the dynamics of competitive swimming at the high school level. Additionally, his active participation in both the USA swim team and Summer swim team allows him to connect with the swimmers on a personal level and provide valuable insights. With his dedication and comprehensive background, Coach Aiken serves as a remarkable mentor, fostering a supportive and successful environment within the Greenview Dolphins.

Alexandra Brooks

Coach Alex's unwavering passion for swimming fuels her desire to share knowledge and inspire young athletes to reach their full potential. With a strong belief in the power of perseverance, she motivates swimmers to remain focused, dedicated, and consistent in their pursuit of greatness. As the Head Coach of both the Greenview Summer Team since August 2023 and the Richland Northeast High School Varsity Swim Team, Coach Alex exhibits remarkable leadership and coaching prowess. Her journey with Greenview began as an Assistant Coach for the year-round team in 2021, where she instilled a sense of determination in her athletes. Notably, Coach Alex's past achievements include membership in the Carolina Aquatics Swim Team from 2011 to 2013 and her tenure with the Greenview Dolphins Swim Team from 2008 to 2017, during which she became the first GV swimmer to qualify for the state meet in 10& Under 50 Fly and Free. Through her dedication and exceptional coaching acumen, Coach Alex continues to shape the future of young swimmers and foster a culture of excellence within the swimming community.

Erin Fitzpatrick

Coach Erin's lifelong passion for swimming began in 2002 when she joined Topspin in Lexington, and it quickly developed into a profound love for the sport. She pursued year-round swimming with Palmetto Aquatics, where she first met Coach Stanley over 20 years ago. Despite a setback from spinal fusion surgery in 2011, she continued swimming for her alma mater, earning her varsity letter three times as a Chapin Eagle. Her dedication to swimming led her to reconnect with Coach Stanley at the Drew Wellness Center, where she started teaching swim lessons and coaching summer leagues, eventually transitioning to year-round coaching. Alongside her love for swimming, Coach Erin is passionate about her faith, works as an accountant, and actively engages in community involvement through First Baptist Church and the Junior League of Columbia. Additionally, she finds joy in taking a beginner adult ballet class with her friends.
