Greenview Swim Team Programs

The Greenview Dolphins Swim Team (GVST) follows a structured progression for athlete enrollment, where all participants initially join as Guppies. We teach swimmers to set goals and understand that hard work goals can be achieved.

The eligibility criteria for a swimmer to become a Dolphin swimmer are based on the athlete's age. Athletes aged eight and under must demonstrate swimming a 200-meter freestyle, with flip turns without stopping. Athletes nine and older must swim a 500-meter freestyle, including flip turns, without stopping. 

Greenview Dolphins Training Groups

There are several groups from which an athlete will be placed based on their age/skill level.

Group I (Senior)—Senior-Group I athletics is the highest level of training and commitment to competitive swimming on the Age Group, Senior Sectional, and National Levels.

Group I - The Group I athletics is the highest level of training and commitment to competitive swimming on Age Group, Senior State Meets, Sectional level. 

Group II—The Group II athletes are exposed to a higher level of training and are more committed to competitive swimming. Dryland training has expanded into daily workouts.

Group III—Group III athletes focus on learning the four legal competitive strokes, turns, racing starts, and finishes. They are exposed to a new level of swim practice training on greater distances and faster intervals. Swimmers in Group III will begin swimming in competitive swim meets. Introduce dryland training.

Group III (Development) - Advanced development level. First-year USA Swimming and Greenview member. Develop all competitive strokes, turns, and starts.

Group IV—This is our entry-level group. An athlete may not be able to swim a full lap, but they must be willing to learn how to swim. All swimmers at the entry level are guppies.

USA SWIMMING ONLINE MEMBER REGISTRATION

Starting September 2024, all USA Swimming member registrations and renewals will be completed online. 

First-time member registration must submit a copy of the Athlete's Birth Certificate to the Greenview Dolphins to complete registration.

Greenview Dolphins, SC Swimming, USA Swimming Outreach Program

Family qualifying income for the 2024 Outreach program is 150% of the Federal Poverty Guideline.

INCOME MUST FALL AT OR BELOW THE 150% LEVEL TO QUALIFY.

Copy of Family 2023 Federal 1040 Income Tax  Return.

Families may apply for Outreach for the USA Greenview Dolphins Year-Round Swim Team, Summer League Swim Team, and Instructional Training Programs.

First-Time USA Swimming Membership Required Items

A copy of the swimmer's Birth Certificate for all first-year athletes
